hello everyone!
I'm new at the i ching community and have some very, very pressing issues to contemplate (and I need to contemplate fast, hahaha)

I am fleshing out a possible plan to move from my current temporary (and slightly unpleasant situation, unfortunately) on the west coast, and perhaps moving east (new york area) with not, lets say, the most abundant resources one could possibly wish for, but something, at least.

I would have to move fast once i got there, really fast, and I feel a mixture of dread and intense excitement- I must make a move soon and it has been difficult to make a real concrete decision about where, what, when (I could possibly stay in the LA area but would much, much prefer the east coast, or even the UK- really like it there, not a huge heat and sun person!)

Obviously this is a big life change and will affect, well...everything, pretty much. My plan for New York area (Brooklyn) would be making a blind jump, and would be kind of risky, but I am willing to do what i have to in order to make it work, (and have a father-figure type very north of there who would probably be a bit of a help if anything were to go (heaven forbid) very wrong).

After consulting the I-Ching about my current plan I am sketching out, I received the answer 25.6 (remaining blameless-changing line 6 "Any action, however innocent, will bring misfortune. Stand fast." OH DEAR) to 17 (following) and I am really not sure what to make of it, although I get a less encouraging sentiment than I was perhaps hoping for. I would greatly appreciate your interpretations, and I love details, as this is a very important time of decision-making for me!
thanks all! :)

I'll probably draw some more readings shortly as this is a complex situation, with many possible outcomes, I know!

Hex 25, tag: Unexpected.
"Supreme offering. Augury favourable. If it is not right, sad is our plight. Not favourable when there is somewhere to go." Top, line 6: "Unexpected journey. Catastrophe will occur. Unfavourable for nothing." From Zhouyi, the book of changes, Richard Rutt.
Sometimes other translations helps. Don't know if this cite will do.....

Okay,,,,,stooooopp stop right there. The very thing 25.6 warns against is 'a blind jump'. The time for blind anything has passed. you are at the last line of 25...this is a time to take considered action not risky blind ones. This answer asks you to stop and think things through. Think about detail and consequences. This is not to say you can't move somewhere but don't do it blindly and expect it all to fall into place. You need a bit of a plan here.
