I have to have a small procedure that involves avoiding swimming until fully healed.
One doctor has said to expect 2 months healing time, the other said possibly 3 months.....The issue is I have a holiday booked in 10 weeks time which is based all around swimming!
I have the option of waiting till I return but there are a few things I want to do before I go away that involve taking maybe a few days up to a week off swimming so I'd rather just do it all together now & enjoy the summer.
Seems a little silly, but I'm rehabbing a reoccurring injury & swimming is really helping so I'd like to spend as little time away from it as possible. But I also don't want the risk of infection whilst I'm away on holiday

So I asked:
* Outcome of getting procedure now before summer - Hexagram 10.4 > 61

* If I get procedure now will it be healed in time for the holiday - Hexagram 57.2.3.5.6 > 2

Line 4 of Hex 10 - treading on a tigers tail but in the end good fortune. I have left it quite close, like tip toeing past a tiger, but if I am careful & look after it all will be well.

Hex 57 Penetration, very mixed messages with those lines. I wonder if it's showing how the healing will progress, some good days, some not so good days. The resultant Hex 2 seems positive.

Any thoughts on these lines? Or red flags?
I have to let them know tomorrow if I'm going ahead with the procedure or waiting

Something I'm wondering about - how close do you think you are to being recovered from the injury that swimming is helping with? As you say, interrupting that for 2 or 3 months would probably set you back farther than one week off will, and then it might depend on whether you're closer to the beginning or the end right now.

I don't think 10.4 says absolutely don't...I like your idea that it reflects how close you'd be cutting the time-frames. I can imagine you counting down the weeks and days, with one eye on the calendar and the other on the incision, holding your breath and crossing your fingers. It does say "good fortune in the end."

I wonder if the 57 reading mostly means you just asked this and now you're asking again. That's what lines 2 and 3 sound like to me, and maybe line 6. Not sure. (Whenever I think I recognize this sort of answer, guess what, it's from experience :paperbag: ... )

57.5 talks about a harvesting process, and in a way you're trying to "harvest" fast healing, aren't you? I wonder if it could mean it depends on how you go about it, how well you take care of the incision or something like that? Not putting stress on it and so on: that could be 57 since 57 is gentle and subtle. People are often told, for instance, don't lift things after surgery, and I bet people still do.

Thanks for the reply Liselle!

The injury is a lifelong thing so it's a case of managing it rather than fixing. I have to keep physically active or it slips into pain & injury. Swimming is speeding up the recovery from a slip but I can increase other things when I'm off swimming to help....the swimming was really keeping me motivated to keep pushing. I'm really enjoying it so it will be hard to give up.

The more I let 57 >2 sit with me it feels like it's say it'll take as long as it takes, which is very true. I don't know how my body will react, it could be a fast heal, it could go slower.
I plan on being super diligent with the aftercare & eating right to help the healing process.

The doc saying 2mths has said it will perfectly fine to go away, the doc saying 3mths said I probably will be healed but probably better to wait....my holiday dates are right in the middle of the timeline of both docs - 10.4 - you'll make it by the skin of your teeth!

I couldn't resist & asked : Outcome of waiting until I get back from holidays: 3.5 > 24

More threading! Treating it delicately.
So maybe drilling into me that no matter when I get the procedure I just have to go through the healing process
