Help! Hexagram 13 line3 to Hexagram 25!!!

Hi, everyone-

I was out for a business lunch last week and unexpectedly met a guy whom I immediately liked very much. We had a pleasant lunch and laughed, talked a lot. I asked Iching afterwards: "what can I expect from this guy M"? The answer -- I asked twice and the same response! -- was Hexagram 13, with moving line 3, changing to Hexagram 25. I am so involved with the situation that I just can't seem to interpret answers as I could usually.

I asked Iching another question: What does M's feeling/thoughts towards me? Then, again, I got Hexagram 25 without any moving lines.

Can somebody help me with these answers? Does this mean it is a hopeless case and I should just give up?

Sorry for my bad english, I am Austrian. Hope I can express myself good enough for being understood.

13 is a "good" hexagram for being together as a part of the whole thing, not for the exclusive way sexual relationships use to be. It shows the coming together of people likeminded and that this should remain open to the public. I usually get this hexagram when I am asking about friendships.

With the third line moving, it seems to me that you could be suspicious about him, maybe you had bad experiences with men before.

He seems to see the relationship which could evolve as an innocent one, or - what would be even better - as an being together according to time. I mean with that, that he doesn´t try to be in the future with his thoughts about you, but to stay with the here and now, an attitude which would serve you well, too.

A lot of brainwork has been done by you in exeptional short time - about how this good feeling being with him will work out in the near future. Please try to stay innocent in your thoughts so that the experience of the present allow you to stay with him.

But all in all, this seems to be the hexagram of an evolving friendship to me.

There are a lot of people out here, who have a lot more experience than me, please wait for their explanations before making any decisisons. Btw, I don´t think there are so much decisions yet to make. Stay with the moment with him, and I think, everything will work out fine.

Hi Lgranz,

The idea of hex. 13 is that of fellowship. Fellowship differs from romance in that 13 is not about personal interests. Its rather an interest in humanity, those we come into contact with that we may enjoy mutual common interests and benefits.

Line 3 suggests that your personal interests predominate your situation, and that because of this there is secret wondering, possibly even considering a scheme to attract him to you. This line ill-advises this approach.

Hex. 25 shows the way. It is without personal intent. Everything springs from gradual and natural development. No special interests or self-serving intensions.

This is a good one for both Zhi Gua (Without Pretense or Innocence) & Fan Yao (Wanderer's gain, citizen's loss). Trust issues here. Someone undeserving has been burned before and is taking some time to recover. No blame, still maybe it's time to take risks again. But they have to get up on their feet first.

thank you so much for your reponses. And, Soshin, thank you for your sympathetic insight.

And, B., I have to agree with you on the trust issues-- While I am so open and almost child-like, Mr. M seems to be have too many issues and reservations. We did have a great time at our lunch, but he seems to be pulling away.

I did a few more Ichings on Mr. M and asked this particular question: What can I accomplish in a relationship/friendship with Mr. M? And, I received the following answers: Hexagram 1 with moving lines, 1,2,3 and 4, moving to Hexagram 20.

It looks alike I have to let go of my personal feelings for this Mr. M and let the nature take its course. It's so hard when you like someone/want something your way, and I ching says otherwise.

By god, I know what you mean. The crux is, the Yijing is always right. ;.)

But there is no bad omen here. Perhaps it will not be a romantic relationship, but it seems to me that he should be a character really worth exploring (Hex 1 moving to 20).

Four moving lines in the answer are always hard to interpret, but I think it shows a strong but steady and patient path toward him. In the beginning there should be not so much hurry, it is better to stay where you are, someone of you both seems not ready now (1st line moving). Slowly you will be able to access him, and then good fortune will occure (2nd line moving). There is also a lot of struggling, you will have to make a choice (3rd and 4th line moving), and nobody can forsee which choice you (and he) will make, which way you will go.

20 shows a big personal improvement you could accomplish (when you look at lines 1 to 4 from bottom to top, it will be easy to understand).
