I am asking for insight of how to proceed in a situation where I seem pretty trapped. My now ex-husband moved into his friend’s house (adopted as part of that family since junior high). He came back to our house to sort his equipment, tools, and other belongings. While doing this in terms of a couple days, his friend passed away, found by an anonymous person and notified by the coroner’s office.

My ex has not been able to cope with these events. Already bitter and distressed about our divorce, for first time in over 23 years of marriage, he is out of work, he drinks night and day, and he finally spent all moneys left (great reason for our divorce was his reckless spending).

I have been back to school to refresh my former training and update my resume in business administration and try to keep peace in trying to help our younger son who is starting college. Things have gotten so bad that even with students loans I cannot afford the expenses, and my ex-husband with his very passive aggressive attitude, keeps his habit by underselling our assets for a few dollars and he is not planning to move out at all. My son and I have no place to go and as much as I try to keep us both away the situation at home is intolerable.

Other than his wild spending, my ex-husband’s drinking and other destructive behaviors are completely out of character and it has been a real shock for my son and I.

Trying to force a change will only hinder your advancement. Enlist the cooperation of someone else when you wrestle with a problem.

Hexagram 61, Inner Truth> 63, Already Across

Thank you for your answer johnny ng, perhaps this is a test of my inner strength and although it feels like a continuous torture, if I endure, at the end I’ll be stronger.
I can see how my impatience has drawn me into rushing things in the past.

I’d still like to what the lines are telling me. Although I have read the Dao quite a bit, I noticed that experienced readers can give an interpretation quite different than what I envision. I also finished the University courses in Asian History, which helps put things in better perspective. Yet, with this said, I can see my need to attain additional wisdom to maximize the multidimensional truths of the I Ching.

Hexagram 61, Inner Truth> 63, Already Across

Line 2
‘Calling crane in the shadows,
Her young respond in harmony.
I have a good wine vessel,
I will share with you, pouring it all out.’
Line 3
‘Gaining a counterpart.
Maybe drumming, maybe resting.
Maybe weeping, maybe singing.’
Line 6
‘Cockcrow rises to heaven.
Constancy, pitfall.’
