Dear Friends, I would kindly ask if you have advice on the interpretation of the following reading:

Cast hexagram: 27 2 changing lines: 2 and 6 (an old yin for line 2 and an old yang for line 6); transformed hexagram: 19

(some say I ought heed the advice of line Nr. 5, which "seems" negative in some interpretations)

I'm rather new to employing the I-ching, wherefore I fail to understand, in general and in this case in particular, how to interpret negative "advice" in the changing lines; if this is the case, particularly in instances when the new hexagram is of a "positive" nature.

The Context of the question:

The question in question concerns a website that I'm working on and planning to launch shortly.

The question:

I asked: "What will happen to our commercial and information site presently named whereforetherefore.com"

Thank you, and much love.

There is a mistake in the description of the casting. Could you correct it?

Not yet fixed. The problem is that hexagram 27 with changing lines 1 and 5 changes to hexagram 20 (27.1.5 > 20). The casting looks like this:

☶ ☴
☳ ☷

Do you remember how you made the casting? :)

Ahh now I think the problem is fixed... I simply counted by looking; 1-6...

Changing lines 2- 6; and I have corrected the post.

Thank you ever so much :)

Well, now the query. Are you asking, "Should we change the name of our website?"

it must be the mercury retrograde... :) "The question in question concerns a website that I'm working on and planning to launch shortly".

"I asked: "What will happen to our commercial and information site presently named whereforetherefore.com" (I included the name (of my website in my question) to signify that if necessary the name could be changed; and that the project (online project) as a whole was the subject of the question)"

Or simply: the question was concerned with how our project (the website) will fare...

I see 27.6 as the information source and 27.2 as the ambition that might consume the source. 19 is both overseeing the work, being the work and doing the work, but it doesn't mean to tackle it alone, nor to let it consume you.

I don't follow your logic of a temporary or transitional URL. A URL is a brand, and switching brands successfully is usually more difficult than starting from scratch.

Thank you dear friend.

No, I agree with regard to the URL, but we specialize in writing articles, wherefore we may take our "information" onto another site; if this "brand name" is not effective, for what ever reason.

I only included this part in the question since I was interested in stating my question sufficiently specifically.

"What will happen to our information site presently named whereforetherefore.com"

The latter is perhaps a better translation of my original question.

On the basis of this reading: would you consider the venture to be advantageous?

Any more insight is very much appreciated.

I love working whence knowing a sound foundation underlies our efforts.

Will the venture to be advantageous?
27.2.6 > 19

Because the text accords with the topic of the website, I think the casting is auspicious. Judgment of 27:

Pay heed to the providing of nourishment
And to what a man seeks
To fill his own mouth with.

Image of 19:

Thus the superior man is inexhaustible
In his will to teach,
And without limits
In his tolerance and protection of the people.

There are warnings in the text. Line 2 is about getting off course and line 6 about having enough packed for the long haul. That is, you will need to be continually feeding the site new material to sustain interest. In the Judgment of 19, the 'danger in the eighth month' may refer to a future need to restyle the site.
