Help with reading reagrding getting work.

Dear All,

Would anyone be able to help me interpret the reading I have received regarding work.
I have been voluteering for sometime on a community project, and I am unsure if I will receive paid employment.
The paid employment would of course be most welcome.
Hexagram 36 is this very bad? However it changes to 49 which seems promising?
So moving lines 4 and 5.

I would be sooo grateful if anyone had a moment to reply.

Before I start I would like to qualify something, in that, I usually seem to get the readings right, but here, I will just post what appears to be the case and we'll see if it rings true for you in this case. I think the biggest thing that jumps out in the commentary on line four says, "In this way we realize that there is no longer any hope for improvement, and thus we are enabled to leave the scene of disaster before the storm breaks." I'm not sure what this means to you, but I get the feeling you should go elsewhere. If you don't, the commentary on line five says, "those who cannot leave their posts in times of danger." To me it is clear, but you will have to apply it to your particular situation, and see if you get the same feeling about it.

Look, this is the kind of question you shouldn't need to ask the I Ching about.

So yeah, I would say: no, you're not going to get paid for volunteer work. Of course, because you didn't spell out exactly what the situation is, we have no clue what "volunteer" means to you. But if you're going to ask someone, it'd be wise (i.e. obvious) to ask your employers/supervisors.

Help with my reading

Dear Gene,
I actually though this was maybe rather agood reading because this ment some sort of massive change.
I hope you are wrong because I am actually living in a foregin country and do `nt have too many options open to me regarding working earning money.
I am actually starting to working for myself as well, so maybe this is what i should be concerntrating on.
I hope to continue volunteering because this brings me alot of happiness and contac with other people but maybe not so many days a week.
