Hexagram 1 is confusing

I have two rather serious situations to consider in my life right now. I queried the Yi about each of them.

What should I do about x?

33

What should I do about y?

1.2.6 -> 49

I understand the first one and it makes sense given the situation. The Yi is confirming what I already know. However, the second reading is confusing. I don't understand hexagram 1 well at all. Obviously line 6 isn't counseling me to be arrogant...so is that a warning? What does line 2 mean? It seems to be talking about something positive to be gained from someone else...from venturing out into the world. Lise's site says,

"Associate with people of value, good and bad are both contagious."

Also, how to understand 49 in this reading?

You should withdraw from all involvement with X. You should disengage, pull out, and let X take care of Xself.

Yeah, more difficult. They Yi's telling you that a lot of creative energy is moving through this situation. Creative energy doesn't belong to us, doesn't belong to the ego. That's why we don't recognize it. We more often recognize it in hindsight when we see the effect it had on a situation. When you draw Hex 1, you're being put on notice that heaven's taking an active part in what's happening right now. 1.2 says that heaven's effects are starting to become visible in the area of your enquiry - in this case, that's the Y situation you asked about - so you should be able to spot some unanticipated developments in that situation - something that neither you nor the Y situation brought about on your own. Things you had never anticipated, things you never could have brought about on your own, that sort of thing. It should be starting to be visible now. 1.6 warns against being overbearing, against wielding that heaven energy with your ego. A gentle touch is required.

Overall, what you should do is find out what you're learning or gaining right now, and carry out what you think is the right thing to do - your judgement can be trusted if it's guided by your heart. Not only that, but this situation's really creative in a way that is going to shuffle off the form or outer shape of the situation - things are going to change, in other words. They're changing as we speak, probably.

Finally, I'd be happy as a duck to receive 1>49. Pretty useful and pretty encouraging I think.

Yes, that 33 was rather succinct. I feel a bit sorry about having to do a 33, but I agree with the Yi. It's for the best.

Is this why 1.1 shows the dragon/creative energy lurking? In other words, the effects of heaven are still hidden..haven't manifested yet? (Is it a progression through the lines?)

I see a progression in three lines: 1.1, 1.2 and 1.5.

In 1.1, the dragon's submerged. In 1.2, the dragon appears in the field. In 1.5, the dragon appears in the sky. The progression seems to be from invisible to visible to spectacularly visible.

The other lines don't seem to be part of the same progression.

The six lines are part of the same progression

1.3 after the dragon appears, is quiet active, so there is risk of deviation
1.4 being aware of the risk, the dragon desappears to find it's propper place
1.6 after the dragon appears in the sky, if the dragon flies to high, arrogance
(Is not enough to go from unshowing to showing.Is needed to know how to show. Even the Dragon has limitations, rules and borders to respect)

Hmm... okay. So, you see a progression in the other lines, even though there's no mention of dragons...

So - do you see a progression in the lines of Hex 2 as well?

Every "double-trigram" hexagram is secuential, it means every one of them shows a progression in it's six lines

In hex 2, the secuence shows the process of responding to Heaven
