Hexagram 18 - Coronavirus and Work Situation

This is my first post on the forum

I hope that by sharing some insights I had about the present situation we could find something more about what we are all going through.

Introduction:
I've been planning to quit my job and attempt to be a freelancer in 2020, so last year around September I asked 3 different questions to Yi:
1- How could I sustain myself as a freelancer in 2020 (I was planning to quit on January) = 26.1 -» 18
2- What would happen if I pursued a freelance career, without a fixed employer, on 2020 18.1.3 -» 41
3- What would happen if I looked for a job in another company in 2020 (instead of freelancing) = 18.2 -» 52

On that day I wondered why I would have to face the same situation on any of the scenarios, and even though i usually find hexagrams to reappear across similar questions, this one was too specific.
The fact that I would have to deal with Restoring What Has Deteriorated was not very obvious for me back then.
I started to think that maybe was because I was changing from a 9/6 job to a freelancing work dynamic, and that would imply to reform something that I allowed to stagnate after leaving college (question 1 and 2).
But then why would that also happen on another job, maybe and hopefully, I would be changing the sector that I had been work on and restore possible old habits and behaviors (?).
At the end of deep analysis, I had a gut feeling that something was off, I could even get a disease.
The same questions in the months that followed, always implied that the decision was going to be postponed for me, and I should delay my demission.
That was a little frustrating for me but I decided to focus on everything else that needed to be done, so that when I left everything was ready, and in that way wait for the right moment.

Then in January coronavirus starts to reveal itself in China, and by March my country (in Europe) is pretty much in quarantine too. So I start to think that if I had quit I would be way worse than what I am now for logistical reasons, as many people are, unfortunately.

Question:
On your eyes, considering the nature of poison, decay and corruption, that the hexagram 18. presents, do you believe that it was already a possible warning for the global situation, more than a picture of my professional journey?

And if so, what could hexagram be warning us of, usually I don't associate that hexagram to natural phenomena, but more to a "man"-made evil.

What an awesome thread! Just like you, I was considering finding another job this year, and all my readings at the beginning of the year advised against it, like don't even try. I was also wondering why. There were huge alarm bells in all my readings at the beginning of the year, so much that I was led to ask this question:

What is the main danger of this year?
46 unchanging
This gives me hope that the current crisis will be overcome before the year concludes.

To your readings:
How could I sustain myself as a freelancer in 2020 (I was planning to quit on January)
26.1 > 18
Clear sign to stop, as there are 'worms' involved.

What would happen if I pursued a freelance career, without a fixed employer, on 2020
18.1.3 > 41
Again 18... You would get some employment, but you would lose out (41) in the long run.

What would happen if I looked for a job in another company in 2020 (instead of freelancing)
18.2 > 52
18.2 says "you can't divine", you can't guess. 52 says stay where you are.

I believe it was saying it was not a time for you to change job as something big was coming ahead.

I did a “job casting” in January, asking how my working in the cinema industry would go, and got like themost fortunate line of all!!! 42.2 if I well remember, the one thatspeaks of turtles and that nothing can be better than how it is.

To now, since the film industry stopped, I am like

Freelancer work is risky in this year. You have better to stop it.

What would happen if I pursued a freelance career, without a fixed employer, on 2020 18.1.3 -» 41
There will be problem you aren't responsible for. It will decrease your money.

What would happen if I looked for a job in another company in 2020 (instead of freelancing) = 18.2 -» 52
Basic problems will stop you from finding another job.

I was not aware that the meaning of line 2, mother's decay, represented something I can't divine.

About Hexagram 46
It is really interesting that hexagram 46 also has Xùn for the lower trigram, associated with patience, strategy, diplomacy, the voice of the earth, the wind that reaches all the parts of the globe. Wich carries the blueprint that is inscribed in the code of everything.

Yes, I believe it was a positive perspective on the conclusion of the matter of the question, and most importantly, the advice to keep the effort and your capacity to make it happen.
The main danger? No wind to carry your blueprint, or no place on earth to execute plans. Difficult to find someone to help you but that's exactly what you should go on doing, and you will find success in the end.

Well maybe some opportunity will arise with this social restructuration, that could offer even more growth than what you were used to. I believe a lot will change in the following months and we'll find a way to go on with our lives, even if with some limitations for a while!
