Hexagram 2>1 three times in one day

Hello everyone!
I hope you are all doing well, enjoying good health, and safe.

Recently I reconnected with an old boyfriend. Our relationship was passionate and we could never quite get it to work due to our inability to see things eye to eye.
It always saddened me because we really were into each other.
I’m married to a wonderful man and we have children together. But it’s so hard to forget about this ex.

After reconnecting with him, we began to discuss us and being together again. It was definite clear that he was not over me and that his feelings were just as strong as mine.

We discussed me leaving my husband and I told him that I couldn’t because it would cause too much pain for my poor husband and children. Then I told him that if I could I would be with him because he has my heart.

shortly after this conversation he began to distance himself from me. Confused by his behavior I asked him what was going on but received no response.
Finally after a week and a half of total silence he completely blocks me and a mutual friend on his social media without offering a single goodbye or explanation.

So I have been consulting the I Ching to get some clarity on what happened.

Three times today I received hexagram 2 all lines changing in regards to this man.
I also received hexagram 53 unchanging when inquiring about his feelings towards me.

I have never received either hexagram 1 or 2 all lines changing in the entire 10 years of practicing the I Ching and it’s throwing me for a loop.

Am I supposed to be super receptive to what is going on, or take action? Or wait for him to make any moves?

I can't offer an interpretation, I can't read his mind or intentions whatever the cast and I wouldn't want to spend time or energy wondering what is in the head of this man however as a fellow human it's obvious isn't it what his behaviour says

He didn't get what he wanted so he dropped you. You told him you couldn't be with him due to your marriage and kids and he blocked you. I mean for him presumably there's no point going on, it would be too painful if he has feelings but they can't be realised. That's not meant to sound romantic as what he's done is nasty, he could have said goodbye not blocked you.

There's a reason you are married to who you are married to and not to him and it's this

So he wouldn't have been much use as a husband and you didn't choose him you chose your husband so the question is why backtrack to a previous candidate you rejected ? I guarantee if you left your husband you'd regret it.

It's not really a 'but' is it ? You would have married him if he had been right for you but he wasn't and now you discover he can be quite cold and cruel and cut you off dead. I'd think this was confirmation you did well to avoid marrying him, lucky escape by the sound of it.



If I tried really hard I could make the reading fit that but I don't see the point.

You’re absolutely right. I have been berating myself for being thoughtless and stupid and concerned about this person’s feelings that I completely overlooked his lack of concern for my well being. He didn’t have the decency to say anything, not even goodbye.

I think I was just considering the possibilities of what my life would have been like if I had chosen him. You’re right, I made the right decision the first time.

Getting 2>1 is rare enough, getting it 3 times in one day is quite spectacular. When all lines in 1 or 2 move there is a 7th line interpretation. Will come back to this later, not sure what to make of it. It's not going to change anything I've said, I really don't think someone who blocks you on social media because you were honest is worth losing a lovely family for.

Yes, in all the years that I have practiced I Ching I’ve never seen hex 1 or 2 with all lines changing even once in my readings, much less three times in one day.
I’m wondering if it’s telling me that I am not willing to be receptive or passive and must take the helm? My other general guesses sound silly and far too romantic for someone who is too afraid to face me now.

Thank you, Trojina for your help. You have made it a lot easier to feel better about walking away from the situation and to be grateful for the beautiful family that I do have. No actual affair took place, it was all words, thank goodness!

I’m still curious about the 2>1 readings but merely from the standpoint of never experiencing them for myself.
