Hello
Great forum by the way!
I've been seeing a guy, I met 2 months ago, it has been intense because we've been traveling back and forth out of the same city, emailing, text messages, etc. we finally had this month in the same place, alas he is leaving the entire summer . I haven't been in love for years, so I've been literally tripping from the experience..I basically forgot that you can fall in love. There has been some moments of doubt if we are a couple or not..we try to take it one step at a time..the connection is stronger than the rational...

Now sometimes I doubt it all, is the cynic in me.
SO I asked the I ching does he love me (I know a silly question, but I feel like a teenager lately)
I got 27 6 on lines 3 & 5
turning into 37

would love to read your feedback:)

thanks

Hi Mafi,
I try to avoid asking the I Ching questions about other people's feelings, but sometimes I just have to (love makes foolish questioners of us all). When I do, I find it more useful to take the reading as an overall picture of my own situation than to try to play mind reader by interpreting it as a response to the actual question.

Both lines point to the importance of listening to one's own heart and recognizing the genuinely nourishing aspects of the situation. 27.3 shows someone failing to do that, rejecting the food that could nourish them and going hungry as a result. 27.5 shows someone succeeding at it and finding nourishment even off the beaten path.

Some months ago, when I was obsessively consulting the I Ching about a new romance of my own, 37 kept coming up in its responses. At first I found it very confusing. The Family is not a romantic hexagram, and as strongly as I felt about this guy, I really couldn't see us creating a literal 'family' together. The more I thought about it though, the more appropriate it seemed. Besides a strong feeling of attraction, I had a sense of a genuine, deep connection with him, such as I've rarely felt with anyone. I chose to trust that, and though the relationship has been bumpy to put it mildly, it's also been an important and positive influence in my life.

We are, though in my case at least, the warning of 27.5, not to attempt too much, has been very apt. Leaving the beaten path has meant having to work things out as we go along, negotiating a relationship that works for us. That process is still ongoing, but it feels like we're making progress.
