I have a meetimg to attend and have a reasonable reason to not to attend the meeting. I have asked my boss and he has put the decison on me i.e he will respect what I end up doing. Therefore The decision is on me. i myself do not want to attend the meeting.
I askedt he question
"should I go to the meeting i.e not miss it"
I got 46.6 changing to 18

Please help me make the decision.

Its not as complicated as it may feel
The line is warning you against pushing blindly ahead so i think your gut feelings are correct but obviously there are other issues. No i wouldnt go
So maybe you need to repair the problems that are there and that does not mean, saying sorry
Look if there is some sought of force issue just say how u feel reasonably and quietly
tell a white lie if need be
For instance i may say "i would love to be there but i have some issuess at home i really must attend to" i dont think you have to say " would love to be there but i have to pick up x from the airport"
So i would gracefully decline but say you will make up for lost time next week

If even your boss says its your decision then its your decision. Infact whatever the boss says its still your decision lol

Still FWIW my take on this line is something like 'just cos you can't see where you are going don't stop now'. The shoot under the earth can't tell its going the right way before it hits the daylight but theres no use in it stopping moving upwards. Some blind faith is needed here. You can do with that as you will - I can't make a decision for you.

Also people vary a good deal on the meaning of this line....so ...its your decision

it is a little complicated ..i.e the meeting is important( it is a review infront of the board)...but my attending it might not be good for me...or maybe not..I am not sure..i would like to avoid it if I can

I have a very valid reason and woke up late on that..i.e just realized that I could use it..and the reason i gave my boss
Steve- my gut feeling says dont go..do better in next 3 months and go to the next review..any other thoughts!!!!

Yea review it 3 months,,its not along time in reality
I guess as long he knows you are still serious about working there, he prob feels a bit down your not there
, i mean i guess u can tell him your phone is on etc
I'd be honest but not to honest if u no what i mean,

Its the 18 i am watching i guess , just let him feel he is the winner
