Hexagram 46 And Going Back To School

Hey everyone,

I'm thinking about going back to school (college) for the first time and thinking about pursuing music. I asked the I Ching "What can I expect if I decide to go back to school to learn to play music?" and I got Hex. 46 unchanging. It seems like a good omen in my opinion, but I was just hoping to get some clarification and assurance that it is. I have a bad habit in the past of trying to force matters, so I was wondering if perhaps the I Ching is also maybe telling me to relax and let it just happen, instead of pursuing it and seeking to MAKE it happen. Any help and insight would greatly be appreciated. Thanks!

I've always thought of Hexagram 46 as having to make an effort step by step. One doesn't simply sit back and relax and "let it happen" when what one wants to do is to "Ascend the Sacred Mountain". If you love music and mountain climbing --- go for it!

It's very good for school, proceeding by steps. For me, 46 is also the Eight of Pentacles in the Tarot, working on something until it's right.
