Hexagram 49 changing to Hexagram 5 - Dad very poorly

Hi all,

my Dad is elderly and very poorly and I have just returned from seeing my folks (who live a plane journey (or two) away).

Rather than going to visit again in around 10/12 days time, which I though I might, I am now planning to go for Mum's birthday next, which is around Christmas time.

Hex 49 changing to Hex 5 was the answer I received when I asked if I would see Dad again, if I delayed my next visit until 3 - 3 1/2 weeks from now. I interpret the reading it as it being fine to wait "this long".
But if any of you could help me with the interpretation, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think you will. The Image of 49 mentions the seasons, which suggests Christmas, and 5 is about waiting. If your father is hospitalized, often the hospital will give advanced notice when death is imminent.

Thank you, pocossin! That's roughly what I thought it said, although I didn't get the season. Makes me more comfortable of having made the right decision, though
