47:1.3.4.5 -> 11

He woke up earlier this morning, with 5 hours sleeping only. He was exhausted. He couldn't do anything at all. He tried but he can't - he lacks focus. After he finished "the must be done" job he fall a sleep again and when he woke up in the evening he was feeling really rested. He felt a Peace (11). He than did his tasks for that day with easiness and joy.
I forgot to mention that when he was at the state of the hexagram 47 he entered a little troublesome phone discussion with his friend, but all ended fine between them. However, the man was feeling negative emotions long after that phone discussion, as the hex. lines said that the danger is inside the man. He remembered those IC words and change his inner state - yes we can change certain destiny by changing our selfs - our thoughts and emotions, out inner states. ;)

53:5 -> 52 The Keeping Still Story

This is the story of the Secondary Hexagram called Keeping Still, Mountain, or Hexagram 52.
The Man in the morning received the hexagram 53.5 which leads to 52.
The 53 is Development and Gradual progress and he developed his work all day long. He is finishing his songs and is happy that he is near the end of the whole process.
However, in the evening he received information that some ex-coworker of him had changed some song which is completely authorized art of the man. When the man received this information he flamed in anger. He took the phone but he couldn't find the number. (The Universe was giving him a time to reduce his anger). He called some friends to find the number and after 5 minutes he called his ex-coworker. The Man was rising his voice like a thunder from the clouds.
The Image of 52
THE IMAGE
Mountains standing close together:
The image of KEEPING STILL.
Thus the superior man
Does not permit his thoughts
To go beyond his situation.

Two mountains standing close together - the Man and his ex-coworker.
This Hexagram is called Keeping Still, be Still don't do anything in anger. Go beyond this situation. The Man was surprised when later on he check this reading from the morning. He didn't expect that the clue of the day would be in the image of the Second Hexagram.
This event leave the man with disturbing inner state and he needed a couple of days to return in his inner peace state. This was quite heavy temptation. The man wants justice so much, but he forget that he live in the world where there is no justice every time and everywhere.
This was a big lesson to him.

The Story of my friend's car problem

25.3.6 -> 49

In the Sunday my friend called me and told me that he was on the edge of a possible car accident. The Screws of the Rubber of his car had been turned off by some intentional malefactor but fortunetelly my friend noticed that is something wrong with the Rubber and he stayed unharmed.
The Auto Machinist told him that the case with the Rubber is deffinitelly intentional and is not a merely coincidence of not good turned screws from the previous Auto Machinist.
However, we were in doubts: whether someone is aiming doing harm of my friends or is a merely case of 'bad luck'. We asked I Ching.
IC said 25 with changing lines 3 and 6. Innocence! Innocence - the Unexpected!
Line 3 says:

Undeserved misfortune.
The cow that was tethered by someone
Is the wanderer's gain, the citizen's loss.

"The Cow that was tethered by someone." - The Cow is the Car of my friend - it was tethered by someone. IC clearly says that is not a merely coincidence or bad luck, it is intentional harmful act!

I have Blofeld's translation of the 6th line where the Line is translated as if the traveling is on a long road it is not beneficial.
Exactly! My friend was aiming a long trip!

Sometimes it is amazing how IC can picture the whole situation with precise clarity.

i don't if i can comment here but to me "Undeserved misfortune" sounds more like an accident than a intentional harmful act. other than that is a truly amazing reading and thank you for your diary

Thank you Gato!
I will assume that interpretation also. The event is quite new so I will contemplate further upon the reading in the future.
Why I interpret the "Undeserved Missfortune" as intentional harmful act is because firstly, my friend is a pop star in my country and he has many envy people in his surroundings and one of the things he said to me when we discussed is: "Why would someone do this to me? I have not did anything mean to anyone?!" He is a person with good intuition and he is almost convinced that this was intentional and not merely an accident (I was looking for this word - thank you). The tethered cow was also looking to me of someone "tethering" his car. Because in the line 3 are involved 2 persons.
However, I will contemplate further upon this question and I will write later.
I'm glad that you enjoy my diary of readings.

Best,
Ile

not sure for the details but I would read this line as a low quality service from the service man. They get paid (gain) and your friend's car had a damage (loss)

Some times that line could be read as a transaction where the middle men profits.
was it a scheduled service (49) ? Does your friend shows more trust to the service company as he should.(25.6) perhaps in the past the also have provided below the standards service?

Undeserved misfortune mean he paid for a service and he didn't got what they own to provide.

Hi Anemos, thanks for your replay!
Yes, all this makes sense. Though I now remember how his girlfriend told me that she dreamed - one night before the day when my friend almost did a car accident - how some guys are turning off the screws out of his cars rubber. These also gave me a direction of thinking about and it was one of the things which leads me to the conclusion I gave here.
Its logical all that you and Gato said here, and I can agree with you, only my intuition and that of my friend convince me to not rush with my logic and conclusion made by logic only.
Do you think that "Undeserved Misfortune and Innocence" can mean a victim of attack which he didn't deserve or cause by anything?

Oh, plot gets thicker !

I respect your intuition. :bows:

yet something doesn't sits well. there is a difference between line 25.1 and 25.6. At 6 one can't use the benefit of innocence. Now who is the innocent in this story, you know better than I do.

yes, could be that too but something in line 6 can't make me be 100 % sure and 49 also.

Let us know what really happened.

Innocent action brings misfortune.
Yes, line 6 Innocent action can be a bad work by the auto machinist (I don't know if this is the right word for car servicer?!).
And on which part of 49 you based your conclusion?
Thank you!

you are welcome :). I find it a very interesting and intriguing reading

49 among other thing is seasonal change. taking it literally ( perhaps too literally, lol) then the damage could have started while the routine car service. I know this sector and many repair shops fail to keep the standards and on the the had mistakes can happen easily

Yet, it could also mean that there is a time for a change regarding your friend. Why ?, what ? don't know. To me the relating hex is very important. Usually its the first thing i look to a reading. Don't know your method but to me its the checking point that says whether or not my question and Yi's answers are tuned.

care to share how you see 49 here ? or how your friend reads it ?

yours,
Sherlock ;)

I look at the Secondary Hexagram and for me, the key phrase of the whole situation very often lies there (especially in the Image of the 2nd hexagram).
In 49 I see - Transformation. Transformation after some event. I look at this Hexagram as indication that this event should bring inner transformation in the character and viewpoints of my friend. Maybe it is developing of Caution, or trust in friends (and not doubt). Because my friend is often in doubts that many people does not think about him in positive manner and that they want bad things to happen to him.
So, again, the 2nd hexagram is appropriate for the 2 possible explanations of the 1st hexagram. It is showing a situation - event that would lead to self-transformation if we allow.
The name of the 2nd Hexagram is Revolution. Revolution in his character or starting to work on self-development, spending more time on his inner developing - that were my advices to him in the moment when we read the I Ching result. The outer events are often result of our inner state and expectations, if we are convinced that someone is trying to do harm to us, eventually, it is very possible to bring that in to our lives.
Maybe this is a situation where the Universe is trying to uncover the inner state of my friend to himself. It is a Lesson, something that he must see, and later on - transform. So, for that purpose is not much important whether it is intentional act or a case of accident.

Agrees ! from all the possible "answers" this is the one I lean to. and hex 25 fits a lot in that way.

15.3 Modesty

Yesterday the Man was all day long thinking about the virtue of Modesty - he need modesty that is for sure! He found that many of his life problems are due to the lack of Modesty.
This morning he received the hexagram 15 - Modesty!
This Hexagram gave him instructions of how to begin. What to do in order to incorporate this virtue in his life and put an order into his life throughout all its changes.

What is Modesty:

Thus the superior man reduces that which is too much,
And augments that which is too little.
He weighs things and makes them equal.

To Reduce what is too much and augment which is too little.
To do what is needed to be done. To know that you're not bigger than the work that must to be done. To be organized, disciplined and responsible. All that is part of the virtue of Modesty. All thing in this world has its own time, so I Ching says that today is time for the Man to start to develop the virtue of Modesty and in that way to continue to teach him self on wisdom.
