Hi All,

I'm looking for a second (or third, or fourth) opinion. I'm helping my parents with a big move (whether the move is a good idea is another casting). I've gotten estimates from 3 different movers. The prices and what they think needs to be done vary quite a bit. All of them are quite expensive. Also, from what I understand the moving business in the US can be rife with shady business practices. I feel I've chosen the movers fairly carefully. I've gone over the estimates but just to be sure I've done a casting for each of the companies.

Can you guys help me out and let me know which mover seems best.

What is the effect of using mover A? Answer: 47.4 > 29
Yikes...Confined to Repeating Chasms, with a bronze chariot thrown in. This one seems like a bad idea.

What is the effect of using mover B? Answer: 56.3.6 > 16
Traveling to Enthusiasm. Not necessarily bad but line 3 talks about losing your young helper and danger. Line six talks of pitfall and losing cattle in Yi. Both changing lines mention fire...This one seems like a bad idea as well.

What is the effect of using mover C? Answer 56.4 > 52
Traveling to Stilling. I'm not sure what the stilling is about. Line 4 mentions that the traveler gains property and an ax, but "my heart is not glad." This one seems the least bad of the readings for the questions. Yet I am still unsure.

If anyone can shed some light on these readings, I would greatly appreciate it.:bows:

Thanks!

Mover C is clearly standing head and shoulders above the other two. Under the circumstances, 56.4, "my heart is not glad," is the best of the options. Indeed, whose heart glows with gladness over a moving company? The idea seems to be that no matter whom you choose, you are not going to be easily satisfied. It would be good to remember that there is no perfect moving company, or perfect anything else, for that matter. :)

I like this casting because it suggests the process of moving. Items are confined in boxes and then enter the dark cavernous pit-like van.

Thanks Ginnie and Pocossin!

Ginnie -- you're right, there is no perfect moving company. I just want to find one with a fair price and good service. I've known people who have had their stuff held hostage until they paid some enormous overage only to find things missing and broken. A couple of articles I've read stated that I should get at least 3 bids before going with any mover. The lowest bid price is not my biggest deciding factor, reputation is. Mover C has the best reputation of the group. I ascribed "my heart not being glad" as my personal misgivings about the move.

Pocossin -- I never thought of the hexagrams that way. What seemed like a super scary reading now doesn't seem that bad. Although I thought that a bronze chariot wasn't a good thing, maybe it's just describing a moving van.

Arghhhh... I was hoping everyone's interpretations would easily point to one mover. Now I am going to call the movers with some scheduling and clarifying questions. I'll let everyone how it turns out.

Thanks again!
