Hobby into Business 50.1.4.6 to 11

Hi,

I asked "what can I expect if I go head strong into this" meaning my hobby into a business and I got 50.1.4.6 and 11.

Ordinarily I would think that is good but changing line 4 of The Caldron has me wondering. I'm not even sure I am reading it right.

Can someone help me interpret this please?

I think it is basically positive, except for the warning line of 50.4:

50. The Caldron

Line 1:

A caldron with its legs turned up,
beneficial to expel clogged stuff.
Getting a maid for one's child.
Without fault.

Making room for a transformation. One can remove the old and useless to make space, or free time and resources by letting someone (or something) else do things. There is nothing wrong with this.

Line 4:

A leg of the caldron gets bent.
The duke's meal is spilled,
and he gets wet.
Misfortune.

There is a problem so that the results of the transformational work are wasted. On top of that, it also causes further trouble. Things are not going well.

Line 6:

The caldron has jade carrying rings.
Much good fortune.
Without disadvantage.

The situation is in an excellent condition, the results of the transformational work are ready to be moved to where they are needed. This will have a lasting influence. Things are going very well. There is no disadvantage to this.



Hexagram is changing to:

11. Passing Through

Passing through.
Little goes, much comes.
Good fortune, progressing.

Things move easily and supplely. Gains clearly outweigh the losses. Things go well and there is progress.

I think that line is basically a warning, that there cannot be a gap between ambition and responsibility, or something will go wrong. But it is counterbalanced by all the other lines, and the new hexagram. I would say go for it, just be cautious and careful, and then all should be well.

completely agree with foxx, I usually see the cauldron as a place of danger that confines, yet can be worked in to create nourishment. This changing to Peace in your hexagram seems to mean that the difficulty will fall back and open up to help create greatness, so long as you continue working hard.

The relating hex of 11 shows that your wish is for peaceful flourishing. But it may remain that, just a wish.

Line 1 moving says there's some stuff in your cauldron that needs to be emptied out. It could be the sense of conflict over whether or not this can work.

Line 4 is not positive. It might be saying that you yourself are not ready to be tested and would need to find really qualified assistants. Not to go out on a limb with no help.

Alternatively, it could mean that those you choose to help you let you down big time. Until you become stronger, or the concepts and images you are thinking in become stronger, or until you meet up with the proper people to help you, you will find that it does not work out in your favor.

However, as line 6 says, your heart is in the right place.

Beware of a tendency to say, 'This reading says "yes"' -- just because you want it to say "yes." The contents of the cauldron need to be cooked and stirred and cooked some more.
