I have asked the Yi about a very deep relationship I experience. The women with which I am related is married and has two children, so a normal partnership with her would be out of the question. On the other hand, the love towards her husband has died long ago and they are only living together for the sake of the kids.

They are not quarreling or having negative emotions against each other anymore, they mostly just dont bother about each other. A divorce would be very hard for them practically, as well as for the children, so they stay together out of rational reasons.

At the moment, we have a very good friendship, the feeling is like we would know each other for a long time.

I asked the Yi if t would be a wise thing to give way to our physical attraction, which is also existing, not overwhelmingly so, but quite noticeable.

I got 10,4 - 61

I would really appreciate your take on that, as I have the feeling of not fully understanding the answer out of being enamored.

From the hip, it looks like the strong common bond between you is reflected in 61. I don't see this as saying do or don't, but that treading further into this affair had better be worth it to you both, because you can expect a big amount of hassle, if you do. Is it worth the turmoil or hardship? I think only the two of you can decide that.

Hex 10.4 you wish to proceed but you are being very cautious but don't worry a successful outcome is indicated if you are careful.

Hex 61 this says that the relationship can go ahead but you must be sincere in why you are doing it and to be true to yourself. A relationship depends upon the truth, so let your heart talk and you will have a good influence on her, so persevere and you may well find the success that you want.

Loving is always a risk. The line is friendly towrds this risk in particular, and to your gentle approach.
The danger is that you and she may fall deeply in love...I think Yi implies you could handle it.
61 is all about your heart and knowing your truth. "the heart has reasons that Reason knows not."
Is staying safe any wiser? This is not a "pert" question, but one I would really consider.

I would say, and it is very clear to me, that you would like to have complete relationship with her, but you are stuck in the friendship zone. I guess that you are some kind of friend and therapeut for her which is not good. Ask I Ching how you should behave to attract her?
Should you be with her? Is it good? Maybe i am right, maybe wrong. What do you think?

This is my take on 10.4. 10 (Lu) means walking and you can only walk in the forward direction (unless you're anatomically built to moonwalk). The interesting about 10.4 is that it seems to say exactly the same thing as the main text (treading upon the tail of a tiger but it doesn't bite). In addition to what everybody has said about hassle, caution etc., 61 seems to be saying something here. 10.4 seems to be telling you to keep going in the forward direction and things will become obvious to you (you arrive at some inner truth).
