Man, it sounds like you have a lot of plates spinning right now.

First, do you need a doctor's help or 12 step program for the depression & drinking? Whatever happens in 2012, you need a calm steady mind to deal with this year first, don't you?

Second, is there anything you can do to help your ex? Here is a story from the Las Vegas newspaper about a former prostitute who now has a ministry to hookers and pimps. So there is hope for everyone. (I put this in not to say Christianity is the answer for everyone, but that a change of heart is possible for anyone.)

Third, a lot of people say a lot of different things about 2012. There has been a lot of information on the Internet, and talk radio, and books, with different theories. It's not unusual that you and your colleague both heard something about it. If you want to ask the oracle, you could. But with your important immediate concerns, the oracle might be better to ask about the things you have to deal with right now.

Finally, I can't speak for others but I was not hurt by your question. You wanted to talk about your life and about the I Ching. This forum is about life and about the I Ching, so it didn't bother me that you asked your question. If we don't ask each other questions, we wouldn't be able to learn from each other. Wouldn't that be a shame?
