Today I finally managed to create a new method for casting hexagram lines using two short strings and nine knots. Something I was thinking about for long time.
Right after, I got the doubt that I was exaggerating in my production of "I Ching devices" so I thought about asking Yi if it was appropriate for me to continue creating this sort of things.
I got 53.1.5.6 to 36 which I interpreted as an indcation to move forward without expecting too much.
Also in the response (53.1 and 36, specifcally) I read a warning that It might be interpreted as an attempt to reduce the casting process to a mere intellectual (and mathematical) exercise, while my intent is just to find a more personal way to connect to the casting process.
As often happens to me I was amazed of finding literal reference in the answer to elements of the question. I was asking about "devices for divination" and the Yi gave me 53.6 back: "[WIld goose] feathers can be used to perform the sacred dances.".
Any suggestion for a deeper reading?
