Hi, I asked I Ching whether a change in the course of my action will be favorable to me and whether we will achieve what we want in the end (getting a house we want in our desired area) and I got Hexagram 53 changing to Hexagram 57. A brief background: I have been house hunting for 6 mths and trying to sell my place for 3 mths. We have only found a few houses we kind of like but not like the one. We encountered a lot of obstacles selling our house so we have decided not to sell it before buying a new one now. From my understanding, it means that I am heading in the right direction and will achieve what we desire in the end Am I right about it? Does it work if we ask 2 questions in one divination? Thank you for your help in advance!

Hi

In general hexagram 53 is about gradual process and the flight of geese, and from what I have read on the forum of peoples experiences the time frame really does seem to vary before the goal is reached. The advice i believe is be grateful for the current position, basicaly you have stopped to rest from the flight and you are being advised to eat and rest before you continue your journey.

So if you are not there yet, then I would agree you are on the correct path and will soon be in a position to look around and take comfort in the fact you have even got this far.
The line is auspicious and in the correct position

Siu: The man soon overcomes his initial insecurity. He acquires a good position, earns a reasonable livelihood, and enjoys the company of his comrades.

Thank you Steve. I have that feeling and understanding from this divination too. And feel that the progress is indeed long. In fact, I am a very impatient person and have been consulting I Ching these few weeks and it always tell me to be patient. So I took a step back and let my husband make the key decisions like financing the house and whether to hold 2 properties or sell off etc. He is better with numbers and not as impatient as me.And out of a sudden, he decided to change the course of action. The first decision was based on me pushing him for an answer. I Ching has been telling me to let event unfold in its own time and the results won't be good if I push ahead. I finally feel like the way has open up and we are inching forward and it's a decision that my husband is at peace with since he made it. What about the answer to my 2nd question as to whether we will get a good house in our desired location? Does it also encompass that the outcome is good meaning it is a yes?

What did I Ching said to your second question ? #1:
"Does it work if we ask 2 questions in one divination? Thank you for your help in advance!"

My opinion to that is that I Ching answers the question in full in it's first answer. And if in doubt one has to dive deeper into it's answer ie the first....

Sometimes you will get answer to the whole situation, so you can i believe ask two questions. One question is easier or sometimes clearer to read for your own benefit. This situation has a few factors so I believe you received the correct response and not muddled.

As Svenrus and Steve said, sometimes Yi will sort of "rise above" the exact questions and answer about the situation as a whole. If it does that, then it didn't hurt to ask two questions at once.

But, the danger is what if Yi doesn't do that, or if you can't tell? You could find yourself looking at your answer, and wondering which part of your question it pertains to.

Since obviously you won't know how Yi will answer until after you've asked your question, it's probably best to avoid confusion altogether by asking only one clear question at a time. As Svenrus said, try to understand that answer before asking a second question. Sometimes the first answer will be enough, and you won't even need the second.
