In a dream. (Surprise.)

Some context: I'm a happily heterosexual male.

Basically, she crawls into bed with me. And it's not sexual so much as affectionate. Some physical contact but mainly holding, touching; nothing like foreplay, for example. At the end I am massaging her foot. I don't recall any verbal exchange.

What adds to my curiosity about this dream is that last week I dreamt I in essence brought two women together, and in a rather sexual way. And it was almost literally me joining them together.

My bias, btw, is to NOT view these dreams as sexual so much as representative of a yin/yang, masculine/feminine dynamic. Not to put it in a box, it's just that both dreams feel like a broader, more comprehensive dynamic.

I bring all this up because it was pointed out to me here - I apologize that I've forgotten the name - that there is likely an anima-related aspect and I'd certainly go with that as a starting point.

At any rate, I inquire: What was the Ellen Degeneres dream about?

51.5 to 17.

And indeed I was SHOCKED to have Ms. Degeneres crawl into bed with me and seek my affection.

I found this from Hilary to be quite interesting regarding 17:

"In divination, these 'currents' that events float on are usually beyond our conscious grasp. They may have entered your life through your personal inspiration and drive (hexagram 16), but now be revealed as something altogether larger and more profound. A stream of synchronicities, for example; the subliminal, automatic patterns of response of a tennis champion 'in the zone'; the cycle of the housing market; the changes in your mood. Hexagram 17 marks the time for honouring these and Following where they lead."

And one reason that seemed highly relevant is the synchronistic aspect, as this morning while picking up some library material here at work, a recent Hollywood Reporter fell out of the stack and there on the cover smiling back at the camera - and me - was Ellen Degeneres.

Which shocked me not at all.

Line 5:

‘Shock goes and comes, danger.
Intention is not lost – there are things to do.’

Thoughts? Thanks.

It was about your need for affection. Forget sex. You aren't getting enough affection.

The Image says,

The superior man sets his life in order
And examines himself.

You are lacking the affectionate relationship you desire, and need to take steps to corrects this deficiency.

Six in the fifth place means:
Shock goes hither and thither.
Danger.
However, nothing at all is lost.
Yet there are things to be done.

There is danger of disappointment in every effort for relationship. However, nothing ventured, nothing gained. I understand 17 as comraderie, and think this could be your ideal, an intimate associate in all the affairs of life.

thank you, pocossin.

you're certainly right about the dearth of affection.

i will give further thought to the "nothing ventured, nothing gained" advice; you've opened wide a door to a room i've been peeking into through the keyhole.
