Hi everyone,
I have drawn 29 twice recently and instead of being frightened by it or at least uneasy, I thought I'd write you folks and get some perspective.
I have read some threads about 29 in the archives and have also read Lise's and Chris' information.
When I got 29.2.3.5 to 15 I was asking a braod and general question about something that is happening--and just said, "what is this--" I interpreted it as you are being exposed to something that is very difficult (feels dangerous or threatening) for the sake of familiarizing yourself with the experience. The line about getting used to danger resonated to me on this level and seemed like it could be referencing a sort of training.

Then I read some other info from what I think is Chris' site and it said something like the danger is in the actual repetition of something...Like doing things or thinking things habitually. This is very different to me than the above.

And then of course there could be the interpretation that you are being warned--there are several places in the archives where people seem to interpret 29 as just plain--you are in danger.

(BTW--the next time I drew it I got 29.3 to 48 when asking what can be done about this?)

I am hoping to understand this hexagram better...
Thank you,
maiajay

Hi Maiajay

Sounds from here like you're getting a good grip on 29 from more than one angle. No doubt repetition is dangerous, in just about anything from compulsive disorders to deeper understanding. I read something once, forgot the author, maybe Heidegger, who wrote something called "Deep Divers", which struck me a lot as 29.

Most of the time I'm encouraged with receiving 29, because I see it as a chance to learn something important. Some other times it is a red flag. Maybe the red flag is always present as a diver's flag. But unless you dive deep you can't know what's down there, you can only guess and assume.

Spiritualism is so concerned with what is above, when earth's true treasures lie in her depths. Even depths of depression teach things that "normal" people can never learn - but repeatedly going there is extremely dangerous.

29, for me, also means having guts to take risks, breaking rules for the sake of learning inner laws.

We're going to be tackling 29 next on the Memorization thread so your experiences and insights will be very welcome.

Hex 29.2,3,5 basically says that there is not much you can do for the moment, so don't struggle or try to force the issue, that would make things worse. So be content at where you are for the time being, be patient and wait, things will change in due course.

Hex 15 says not to over estimate your abilities, be realistic in what you can do, you will then get the help you need to overcome your problem.

One more thing--willowfox, in your interpretation, aside from the mention of patience and not forcing the issue, recognizing my limitations which makes sense and resonates as much as am challenged by that...you also mention that things will change in due course and the eventual overcoming of this--Are there specific lines that indicate this to you--or do you get that message perhaps from 15?
Curious,
M.

The lines and hex 15 indicate this
