I was first going to post this into Shared Readings but it is more of a question, so I'm putting here. Recently I threw two lots of coins in an inter-related reading.

The first was: What is nearing its conclusion?
For this I got the response: 24.1.5.6

I read this as I'll be about to be replenished but there is a chance of being trapped by old delusions (until I read my Huang when it seemed better to be be sure of the replenishment--be firm in the turning around).

But before I read my Huang I asked the question: What self-deception do I need to guard against: 48.1.5

It took me a while--and reading my trusted Huang--before I realised that it was not talking about the question, but about my first question: What is nearing its conclusion?

Replenishing leads to Advance.

If you do interconnected readings, does this happen to you (answer the first question twice) or does the Yijing answer both questions for you?

Hi wealth

I do made linked questions (called "dialogues"), where I follow an order: from the more general question to more concrete aspects.

In ths cases, I understand the answers at the light of the previous answers

In the search tool, if you ask for "dialogue", you could find some cases to see how it works (or doesen't. :) )

I personally come from the "one question at a time" school.
At least until the first response is understood.
Like the Yi says at 04.0:
The first consultation informs
The second and third show disrespect
Disrespect deserves no information

I do interconnected readings from time to time (choosing between several options, for instance), and I find that as a rule Yi answers each question in turn. The exception would be if I've misunderstood somewhere along the line and asked a question based on that misunderstanding... which is why Brad's approach has its merits ;) .

In the example you gave, I would stay with the original reading while I looked for the nature of the delusion in 24.6. The way the line leads to (or is drawn towards) 27, for instance, or how far it is from the roots of 24. (Not to mention translators' commentaries.)
