Is hexagram 16 just a harsh reality check?

I'm really hoping for some thoughts on this one...

I typically don't have much luck in romantic relationships and I've been single for quite some time now. And, the IC rarely gives me hope or promise when I ask questions related to these things, so I've refrained for some time to even ask. (Also, I've refrained from relationships mostly too, but that's neither here nor there, right?)

A few weeks ago, at a coffee shop, while waiting for my car to be repaired, a MOST handsome man sat in the cozy chair next to me. Not to sound like a romance novel fanatic, but the energy alone I felt from this man blew me away!! I felt an energy pull toward him before I even got a look at his face, which happened to be so devastatingly handsome once I got a peripheral (I was "minding my own business" of course;) )glance at him, that I couldn't allow myself to look directly at him . I continued to "mind my own business" as though I didn't even notice him;)

I received a phone call which I wanted to take outside and this resulted in a cute, flirty exchange between us. After said exchange and phone call, I went back to "minding my own business". While reading my book, something in my head clearly said, "He's studying law". (Gosh, I sure hope y'all don't think I'm completely crazy here!! I feel compelled to explain what a bizarre experience this all was for me)

When my ride to my car arrived, I went to leave and thanked him for watching my bags during my phone call. This started another brief conversation where he told me where he was from and that he was currently attending law school:eek::eek:

...which FLOORED me... but I digress...;) To sum it up, I literally felt like a character from a romance movie experiencing some serendipity with a handsome stranger in a fashion I wouldn't imagine would ever actually happen in real life....

He asked for my phone number (OMG! OMG! OMG! :freak:) and I gave it to him. A few weeks have passed and I'd pretty much decided I most likely would not hear from him again. When last night, I got a text from him!!!!!!!!:freak:

We texted for about an hour back and forth and it was lovely. It's clear there's a shared and recognized energy field between us of some delightful variety:)

So....I went out on a limb here and asked the IC, "what is my best course of action in relation to my connection with this fella Matt?"

Reply: hexagram 16.1.2.4.6 ---->41

Hexagram 16 is called "Enthusiasm" and also "hesitation" and the lines seem mostly to be about keeping one's ego in check and/or facing reality. Being that I don't have much of an inflated ego by any standards, I don't know how to interpret this as advice for a course of action?
Perhaps it's referring to my feeling of our initial meeting of being too unrealistic? I DID feel like it was straight out of a movie scene because the entire exchange seemed too perfectly fictional to be realistic. Is the IC maybe confirming that it IS too "good to be true"?

I would be so grateful for any thoughts, ideas, or experience with this hex and these lines?!

Your post gave me a long joyous chuckle; thank you for that.

Yes, I think your reading is a bit of a reality check, and a bit of a hint to keep playing it cool.

But I think more than a reality check it's a depiction of your experience, as illustrated by your post. Good for you, and for him! Now let's hope there's no unpleasant surprises, such as he's engaged or married. That's why it's good to keep those thunderous emotions in check, at least until you're sure your experience has long range potential. The higher we fly, the further we fall if things aren't as real as those initial freak out moments want them to be. But do dare to find out. Some science theory believes the first jump-start life on earth received were the jolts of lightening, but too much electricity can burn up a circuit. When soldering delicate capacitors, it's recommended to attach an alligator clip to act as a heat sink, to absorb some heat and prevent permanent damage. You can think of 41 that way when clipped to 16.

Good luck. I hope it works out for you both.

sooo,
Thank you!!!! That actually does make perfect sense! With our initial introduction being something straight out of a Kate Hudson/Matthew McConoughey(sp?) romantic *scripted* movie scene, I felt like I floated out of Starbucks' door that day....and have had several weeks to go over it all(in my head...ad nauseum ), question my reality of the whole experience(as well as question if he really *was* as devastatingly handsome as I thought?), and question the very things you mention like girlfriends, wives , serendipity itself, weird random informational "voices" in my head:eek:, etc, etc...
Needless to say, I had firmly convinced myself I'd never actually hear from him again approximately about 48 hours before he texted. So, saying I was "over the moon" to get a text from him, is really underplaying my emotional state at seeing that text.... I think the IC with your help here has given me some excellent advice as a course of action in regard to this highly unusual, highly unlikely, and highly unrealistic experience/opportunity. I definitely need to play it cool on every level until more of the movie plot here is known....
Thank you for the alligator clip analogy!!!! I do believe I will even use a photo of one as his contact photo in order to keep myself and my expectations here grounded and somewhat sensible:)

Thank you so very much for reading of my little experience and taking the time to gift me with this terrific insight and understanding:hug:
