Is the feeling mutual?

Met a very interesting man, the first guy I've been really drawn/attracted to in a very long time. It seems the feeling may be mutual, but I am unsure. He was full speed ahead then full stop. So... that's the question. It seems that the casting shows backward movement on the one hand (from 53.5 to 52 - Gradual Progress to Stilling) on the one hand; on the other I feel that the reading is telling me to just be still, be patient, and all will be well. But I'm new at this and don't want to read "be still" instead of "move on" if that's the answer... Help?

That's the thing - I've attempted to contact him. Once as follow up to an in person conversation we were having (via email). And other via FB messenger. Sadly, we haven't exchanged phone numbers yet. So, if those have been read (they have) and he's not responding (he's not - but I do know that he's read them), I'm thinking I should just sit back and wait. Either for him to make a move, or for someone else ("this or something better") to do so...What do you think with the new information?

I second Moss Elk not to make any more effort with this man. You showed him clearly that you want to be in touch with him, now it is his turn to respond. Hexagram 53.5>52 is saying that there will be a (re)union after a time of stagnation, so I think you can be hopeful that the feeling is mutual.

Thanks equinox. I'm going to take the advice of the Yiching - and both of you - and just stop. It may be that he's going through his own stuff; it may be that I've offended or frightened him somehow (men do get frightened of women, I've found). I'll still myself and see what happens next - with him or with another. Or just with myself

Yes, I think especially at the beginning of relationships you have to be patient and shouldn't ask for too much, things are often a bit shaky at this stage for various reasons. As you mention, you never know, what the other person that you still don't really know is going through right now. And yes, 53.5 definitely asks for patience.
Of course on the other side initial periods are probably the best time for setting limits and rules (within yourself) and if you start to get too dissatisfied, then forget it and then Moss Elks interpretation will apply. Anyhow, this result indicates a committed relationship in the future. Good luck and please keep us updated.
