Is This Newly Found Trust in Love Real?? 53.2>>57

Happy New Year people.

As many of you know I've been through much mental pressure recently. I'm trying to regain balance.
So I don't know if what I feel is a byproduct of unusual conditions or a manifestation of inner transformation.

1- This one happened before crisis. I started regaining my trust in humans in October, when I was in trouble in India, and the strangers who travelled with me came to my help. After coming back home, I was visibly a more easy-going and cheerful person.

2- Recently I started to sympathize with a coworker I didn't talk to for more than a year before coming back from India. The reason was his inappropriate comments and misogynistic behavior. I'M NOT AT ALL DEFENDING HIS CONDUNCT. The thing is, I felt great hatred and anger toward this man for many reasons, including his behavior being acceptable to some extent in the rotten society I live in. The recent crisis made me think that maybe he is going through lots of anxiety or other bad feelings, like I do during recent weeks, and that's why he overly drinks and talks garbage. So, while I should put boundaries, maybe no need to hate or being mad at him?

3- I feel that I can open myself to love again, sharing what I perceive, finding someone who takes it, being experimental again instead of guarded, judgmental and, deep inside, fearful.

I'm afraid 2 and 3 won't last. I asked the I Ching "My newly found trust in love- is it real??" and got 53.2> 57
Beautiful answer. Gradually progressing to the rock, eating, drinking and feasting.

It may talk about a calming effect in my current chaotic life. The hexagrams are 53 and 57, however, both of them indicating a slow, sure progressing/penetrating.

Let me give some other clues:
Mountain is immobile, it stands still, it is closed, it is the end of winter.
Wind sets things in motion, it disperses, it is the middle of spring, Wind is associated with communication. This trigram is also called Wood. Although there is a certain general description of the trigrams, you can certainly make your own associations with them, so let your mind wander.
By the way, I believe the names of the hexagrams alone say enough in this case. Gradual Progression through Gentle Influence.

I agree with you, this is a beautiful answer to receive and one that says to me that your newly found trust in love is real

Perhaps obvious for many on here, I’m a relative newbie but interpret your answer as;

Take your time, move forward with confidence but within your comfort zone (the rock is a safe place for the wild geese), share your time with others, nourish yourself and be joyous. Do this by feeling your way into things, take your time and only look for small successes at this stage


Wilhelm’s translation of line 2 seems to fit perfectly

“The wild goose gradually draws near the cliff.

Hilary’s quote from her book is a lovely way that I personally look at when I think of hexagram 57

Subtly penetrating means becoming part of something, or someone. It describes all-pervading influences, like the wind shaping the landscape.

You penetrate subtly by feeling your way into things, yielding gently to their nature. You shift your own ideas and expectations, and come to understand the situation from inside, on its own terms. And so, as you allow things to shape you, you also reach a place where you can shape them.”

All in all what a lovely answer to your question, which says to me that it’s right for you to trust in love, and it’s real 🫶

53 advocates a best practice of continuing to walk along the high road so that what is lower in you is continually shown an alternative elevated path or set of conditions to follow. It asks you to follow the scent trail of your inspirations as your guiding star. In this situation you are shown a context of subtle penetration prevailing. Follow your guiding star and let it work slowly and invisibly to reach more of the important places that have opened within your heart.

Your newly found trust, is portrayed as real here. Staying centred within it will be nurturing and nourishing for you. Slow and steady wins the race. Enjoy what you have now attained - live it and breathe it. There is more to come in respect of this feeling expanding and moving. The geese have settled on and transformed the nature of the heavy stone you have dragged around with you for so long. Be aware that soon the next stage of their flight home will begin afresh.
