After it was all said and done I had a phone call from the area coordinator who apparently wanted to touch base and welcome me to the organisation. This was the second time I had talked to her and both time she was very bichy and tried to bully me into starting straight away.
I explained that I was travelling and wouldn't be back in the area until the 19th of December which coincides with the starting date of my contract. She retorted with, that's when vacation care starts and well you'll be lucky if I give you get any shifts for the vacation.
A few days later she rang me back and said would I like to do induction the following day and I said well it's my birthday so what hours as I could possibly fit in around my planned celebration.
Oh my goodness she could not have been nicer but it turns out she was just looking for someone to fill a shift!!
However I haven't heard anything further or been allocated any shifts.
What is the likelihood I will start my new job before Christmas

(Vacation care is pretty much all.of January)
