First of all, as I’ve been reading this forum for a good few years but haven’t actually posted anything until now, I’d like to say thank you for this space and everybody’s insights, since it’s been a great deal of help on my life journey with the I Ching.
I have a big decision to make, that’s to do with my living situation, and been postponing asking I Ching for help almost up until the agreed with the other party deadline. And, as it’s kind of a complex story, I simply had the biggest trouble formulating the right question. Eventually I ended up going back to the beginners section for help and, still having all related issues in mind, just asked the I Ching - what best to do about the apartment? The feedback was surprising and a little confusing: 55.1 > 62. I took it as more of an indication about what best not to do, or how not to act, instead of a solid direction, though the initial abundance moving towards preponderance of the small, in simplest terms, after all, brings sizing down to mind (and most likely having to move at some point).
I felt a bit uneasy with the warnings of repeated misfortune, so I wrote down an offer I’d be comfortable to make during a meeting later this week, as the final decision will have to eventually be compromised and the meeting itself marks the deadline. I then asked what if I stand by this offer and 15.2 > 46 was the answer.
In both cases I feel that the meeting has a great chance of success, especially with the 2nd reading which in one line seems reassuring, that my preparation and what I bring to the table is just enough, or maybe just right. I’m still not sure how to read the overall advice, though. First answer, hex 62 seems to tell me that maybe I shouldn’t assume anything in my further actions, thus maybe do not let myself fully trust the other party? The other, hex 46 warns me against pushing too blindly. Could it mean pushing too hard for my own vision? Or would it rather mean pushing ahead without a clear vision? Maybe both?
I also seem to read from this, that I’m currently in no position of authority and, as ownership is at stake, my initial gut feeling, that led to decision to let go of owning a place and possibly go back to renting, feels in line with the lines… But then as I read my own words, seeing the verb downsize brings yet another idea to mind - that of remaining (a partial) owner but somehow swapping my apartment for another one. In most options however, I seem to remain somewhat dependent on the other party…
Do you have any suggestions regarding ways of gaining more understanding into my best options? Would you recommend asking consecutive „what if” questions, to learn more about possible outcomes of each? I often find it ever more confusing, hence avoided it in this situation so far…

I personally see it in both readings, with each giving a first direct one-line answer regarding now - making up my mind and coming to a conclusion during the meeting. And resulting hexagrams then serve as illustrations for later dealings with that conclusion.
