HiI was looking for insight into a work opportunity. A former employer has come to my consultancy offering some contracted work - head and heart have a variety of conflicting feelings and views. The reading came up with 5 (changing line 6) to 9. Any help or different interpretations would be great. Thanks all

Hi ChiaraMia,

If you write out the word "hexagram" and then the number it will show up in blue on our screens and people who subscribe to wikiwing will be able to click on this and the wikiwing page will come up which is a page of information about the hexagram Very helpful and by doing this you may encourage more people to offer you their interpretations.
Hexagram 5 is about waiting. Like let's say you are giving a dinner party and waiting for the guests to arrive. By line 5 you've decided not to hold up dinner any longer, you serve the meal, everyone has a grand time - even though a part of you is still alert for late guests. By line 6 the waiting is over. Guests arriving now are no longer late dinner guests cause dinner is over. So what are they? Well, listen to what they have to say. Maybe they know they missed dinner but now they have something new to offer you? Maybe they want to take you out for dessert? So the point is, I see hexagram 5.6 as saying you should be open to considering the offer but be sure you are evaluating the possibilities based on the actual agreement and not seeing it based on past experiences.
Thus, even if you had a great relationship with this employer in the past he is no longer The Boss so don't be waiting on him. You should be evaluating this situation based on it's own merits.
Hexagram 9 says don't be shy about speaking up for exactly what you need.

A former employer has come to my consultancy offering some contracted work.

Take it, then honor (show them respect, be good to) the three people.
Good fortune will come from it.
(after you fullfill your part.)
The honoring them part may not seem so great during the work, but trust me, something good will come from it.
(Don't even try to wrap your head around what the good fortune will be, just do what needs to be done, you'll get a surprise after.)

Yes, this sounds completely crazy,
but I have lived this line and seen every detail of it play out.
