Before I bought it I asked and received:

29.6 -> 59 (Danger, Dispersion)

29.6 Bound with cords and ropes,
Shut in between thorn hedged prison walls.
For three years one does not find the way.
Misfortune.

Yes thanks for stating the bleeding obvious. It immediately brought up images of guys I went to visit in hospital 30 years ago with their knees pinned in healing racks, the same images which has always persuaded me not to get one. One of a list of a dozen reasons why I shouldn’t.

59. This suggests that when a man's vital energy is dammed up within him, indicated as a danger by the attribute of the lower trigram, gentleness serves to break up and dissolve the blockage.

The only reason why I should, I just want that gentle breeze in my face as I ride along a mountain track on some adventure, dispersing the stress and apathy of the sedentary mature male urban existence.

After I bought it I asked and received:

60.2.5.6 -> 27 (Limitation, Nourishment)

On my first ride I encountered my limited ability to control the beast, well it’s a Honda VT250C cruiser, a Hog is next. I’m so glad I didn’t get a 650, I wouldn’t be able to hold it up round tight corners. And yes I will be sticking to the quiet streets near home until I learn how to ride it.

But wow, already I’m feeling well feed !

Has anybody got a copy of Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance, and has that got something to do with helping the spiritually and mechanically challenged ?

"29.6 -> 59 "

Hex 29.6 in a coma for 3 years?

Hex 59 dispersion, spreading the ashes.

"60.2.5.6 -> 27 "

Hex 60.2 at first being sacred to ride the bike.

Hex 60.5 sweet limitation, limiting yourself to a 250cc has proved to be the correct thing to do.

Hex 60.6 galling limitation, are the speed limits in your area too low?

Hex 27 feeding the soul, feeding the thirst for freedom (and speed?).

Yes I'm well aware of the danger ...

the main reason not to get one, but I prefer to look at the positive aspects of 29:

"Hence too a ravine is used to symbolize danger, it is a situation in which a man is in the same pass as the water in a ravine, and, like the water, he can escape if he behaves correctly."

It ain't speed I want, just freedom and adventure, besides it's a cruiser not a racer, the speed limits will do just fine.

Ah well i don't want to see this little gem sink to the bottom of the pile without a trace, especially as its a rare jewel, ie not a relationship question. :rolleyes:

It raises an important point - how obedient do we get to think we have to be to the advice of the Yi ? I think Stevev was right to go ahead and get the bike cos its his life and everyone knows the Yi says 'wait' or 'not now' far more often that it ever says 'yeah go for it'. I mean what could be a worse omen than 29,6 really, yet he still went ahead. If he crashes he crashes, its his choice ( I hope he doesn't, I hope 29,6 was more metaphoric here - or maybe about the payments or something ?)

Sometimes I think we can get to the point where we ask about every little thing and never make a decision without consulting - so forgetting we do have in actual free will which includes living dangerously if we so wish.

I was thinking myself around the time this post came up if I really want to do something and the Yi seems discouraging then I should do it anyway even knowing the drawbacks I might just want to experience living my life through the immediacy and strength of my desires and what makes me happy. Sometimes maybe using the Yi takes away the spontaneity in life - a phrase I'm hearing over and over lately is, usually from the elderly "its not the things in life you do that you regret its the things you don't do"

Steve, 29.6 could represent the condition you've described, of being dangerously hemmed in. 59 releases the pressure.

I could certainly see the possibility of WF's prediction, but I'm with Trojan on this one. More people die each year from a poor heart, caused by a dull and sedentary lifestyle than those who die on a motorcycle.

60, I'd read as saying to know and respect your limits, but don't bind yourself too tightly with restrictions.

Enjoy the wind in your face; you only live once, might as well live it your way.

How about this notion:

29.6>59 - So, you're born to be wild, right? Heading out on the highway, looking for adventure...But you check in with the Yi, thinking about safety. Perhaps the Yi is thinking more about the desire to be wild. 29.6 says for three years, you'll acquire nothing. Maybe this isn't because you'll be stuck in a hospital bed, but because you're dispersing--59--your energies on a machine.

I don't know what your second question was: Haha, what do you think now that I've got it??? Or a straightforward: What do you think now that I've got it??? or something else, but 60.2.5.6>27 can be looked at like this:

60.2 - Go ahead, what do we care? After we've slaved over you! Okay, take it out! Get out on that *&$@(** on the highway already!

3.5 - Use it some, but please don't get too caught up in it (remember the three years of 29.6).

24.6 - Delusion returns! You think this has gotten your sedentary mature male urban existence moving? Are you kidding?

-->27 -Is this really feeding your soul?

I really ever …

ask grammatically well constructed questions anymore, there’s nearly always too many finer points to write them all down, besides I know exactly what I thinking and it’s all happening in my head, so both questions were cast with the general idea described in the original title. I pushed that to the top of the stack and moved the hexagram, unfortunately I had to use my hand and the mouse, if I ever get biofeedback working it will all be just head.

I laughed when I saw the answer, I certainly didn’t see it as a prognostication of impending doom, I already knew it was dangerous and every time I get on it I remember that, I hope I always do.

I haven’t used the new multi quoted response feature to address every point made because I haven’t RTFM yet, besides there are too many, but I agree with them all, except I’ve never experienced sarcasm from the Yi. In fact it has always had the persona of a wise, kind, elderly gentleman who dispenses sensible advice in a calm manner, until the other day when I posted a silly little response to http://onlineclarity.co.uk/answers/2007/02/24/believe-harmen Believe Harmen‘s thread when all of a sudden I considered for the first time that the Yi might also be a passionate young fallible girl, and that was a refreshing change, which I think goes to show that you can move out of the boundaries of your beliefs easily enough.

Anyway enough of this crap, the highway beckons, coming honey …

… in whatever comes my way… fire all of the guns and watch them explode into space. Like a true nature’s child …

After all it is only a moving couch...right? And better TEVO. :D

I usually think of the Yi as telling me what may happen if......whether positive or negative, not so much telling me "Ren! if you do that Yi will get you".

Ride the wind.
Just do it with care.

Give me a break ...

you want everything in one go, I've got to walk out the front and kick start it, well all right it's got an electric start, but the other day I had to push start it, besides I can already feel the muscles in my left arm growing from squeezing the clutch. Anyway it's more like a moving armchair than a couch, but you can't smoke and ride at the same time.

Hex 29.6 tied, bound, and chained to the Honda for 3 years, shut in by thorn hedged garden walls, no escape the bike always needs attention and maintenance?

Hex 59 dispersion, clearing of an obstacle, finally sold the bike?
