Meaning of Reading - 51.4 to 1??

Hi all,
I am new to I Ching and have just cast my first reading. I'm VERY unsure of what it means and wanted to see if anyone may be able to offer some clarity.
I asked "am I meant to marry (my boyfriend's name)?
I received hexagram 51
Change line 4
Transformed Hex 1
My Trigram symbols were identical: upper and lower were both thunder.
Any help would be greatly apprecaited.

As rodaki points out, you seem to have misread your casting. 51.4 changes to hex 24.

Nevertheless, a few thoughts on your casting (if only to show how the process works).

51 is generally about the unexpected crash of thunder that frightens everyone. The "superior person" is not dismayed by this and continues with his/her business. Thunder is very productive in the I Ching -- it stimulates growth and, in the human condition, breaks you out of your ruts. In the worst event this hex indicates very real crises brought upon by your own actions and attitudes. For those who recognize the warning, it reminds one not to fall into habits of action and mind that blind you to the realities of a situation -- to wake up and see people and things as they really are.

Line 4: "shock is mired." "The storm" is moving off, though distant rumbles are still heard. For the one receiving this line -- you are still stuck in the mud; you've heard so much thunder that it has ceased to have much effect on you. You are numb to the shocks -- quite the opposite of the developed person whose balance is not affected by thunder.

24 Return -- you're coming back to the start of a cycle. You've been through this before and you know where it will lead. Only you can decide if you want to go through this another time, or if you need to take action now to begin a new direction in your life.
