Hi , I am asking the Yi on behalf of a family member who has cancer and is in limbo at the moment. I’m thinking the bird in line 1 is the body not in such a good state but looks to me as though it could be a fortunate outcome in the end?I asked about the next few years and would they get through it/survive? (They have been given a 50/50Chance of getting 100Percent well) Thank you so much in advance for any extra insight or whether I’mTotally off track?

It would be good to also note the resulting hexagram, in this case 53.1.6 > 63.

This is a very serious question. In my opinion it's not good practice to divine about years ahead, especially in such difficult situations. I don't believe this refers to years ahead, I really don't think it's possible to get such a long-term answer.

I agree with you, the cast is overall good. 53 is about processes and procedures, so maybe it refers to the treatment. Although the treatment is difficult (53.1), it's the correct one ('no blame'). Then we go directly to the last line of the hexagram, which probably shows that the treatment doesn't last very long. Line 53.6 says 'good fortune', so I'm hoping that this means that the treatment is successful. In resulting 63, everything is in its right place, however great care must be taken so that things don't get out of order again.

So overall I'd say that your relative has good chances to get over this. My best wishes to them.

Thank you Diamanda , Yes agreed usually I wouldn’t look so far ahead but with these situations the next 2-3 years is crucial hence adding the time in. I should have worded it differently perhaps in terms of recovery Thank you for your help I’m at the beginning of learning about the Iching so this is super helpful. Thought I would give an update on this so far so good and the treatment has worked thus far! The recent check up was good news!
