Move to totally new town where I don't know anyone, or move back to hometown?

Not a very snappy title I know! I am new here. I have some knowledge of the Iching, but I don't fully understand how to apply the commentary to my situation. I am trying to decide where I should move to. One option is to move back right next to my hometown where I will be close to my family. However, we have a very turbulent, largely unresolved history. Furthermore, I was a very emotionally unwell drug addict when I lived there, so it has that spectre of a very unhappy period of my life hanging over it. I have some friends there still though. The other option is to move to a new town- I have decided on the town, but it is far away from my hometown, and I won't know anyone there, so that aspect is daunting. However, the pros are that it will be a fresh start, and no one knows me as 'that druggie girl' there. Anyway, that is the context. I asked the Iching what I could expect from each scenario, and I got the following results:
- I received Hexagram 12 unchanging when I asked what I could expect if I moved to the new town.
- I received Hexagram 18 unchanging when I asked what I could expect if I moved back near home.

I must say, I was a little disheartened because Hexagram 12 seemed rather negative, but i need some assistance to fully understand them.

Could anyone please tell me what each hexagram is trying to communicate to me? Thankyou.

Getting hexagram 12 unchanging is as clear a "NO!!!" as you'll ever get from the I Ching.

Hexagram 18 with respect to moving back to your hometown indicates there would be work to do on your part to repair what has been spoiled or damaged -- maybe your reputation, from the background you gave.

Are you certain that you are going to move?

Yeah, hex 12, especially unchanging, tends to mean that whatever effort you put into that situation will come to no success. You don't know anyone there, you have no one to confide in, right? It won't be a very profitable choice.

Moving back home, you get another unchanging hexagram, which really means 18 >2 > 18. You'll have to plan this choice out, and make sure you repair any burned bridges. And this might take awhile, with no certain outcome as to whether you'll succeed or not. But it's the better of the two.

Maybe there's a third option you haven't explored?
