Moving to another city?

Hello all,

I am currently studying in a city as a master student and now done with the subjects, wanna find a thesis subject which is paid.
It is also possible to find it in other cities, though not sure about the possibilities and kinda on a hurry.
I asked: is it better for me in general to stay in X or to move to another city?
I got 17.2 -> 58

Of course then there would be questions following, but let's go on with this one.
So any idea?

To me it looks like you need to consider your age and if you are acting like a kid or a man in terms of the way you make choices. Kid hood gets extended by years and years in education. Are you trying to avoid adulthood in some way ?

I mean the answer is clearly pointing you to consider how maturity affects your choice. In Wilhelm I think there is a negative judgement on line 2, but others such as Hilary I think, say there is no judgement it's just a choice.

Which do you want to be now. A carefree youngster or a grown man (or woman). This level of maturity you choose is the pivotal factor in making a choice here.

Well , after such a long time...I found this post and thought now is the right time to post the outcome!
I continued in my home university and did a Thesis which was both ideal in subject and grade! At te same time I got a job in the same department which was paid of course Was an awsome period ...
Now that I look back at the Iching casting still I do not get any idea!!

Let's say: you had formulated the question in an horrible way

When you consult the I Ching, you have to be much precise as possible. So, in this case, as your question was en either/or one, it contained in fact TWO questions. 1. What if i move? 2. What if i stay?.

I think the line you got expressed clearly your state of indecision, which afflicted even how you did formulate your question:

Attachment to the little child
Loss of the hardened man

Maybe it described your immaturity in posing the question? Also, as it is part of the hexagram 17 Following, i think it meant that you were on the correct and "easy" way, which was also the way of your desires; and in that way you "lose" the way of maturity (which we can imagine is harder).
