Hi all,

End of February i suddenly started developing these chronic headaches and because they were present with aura symptoms such as intense nausea and fatigue, i thought they must be migraines

At one point i felt so desperate and ill, crying to myself i made an inner prayer to a spiritual teacher i follow as a way of finding comfort, and then got the intuition to do an i ching reading on the matter straight after

Not least of all because noone has a single answer to the cause of migraines and scientists boil it down to a neurobiological illness with genetic causes, the best they say you can do is discover your triggers and avoid them.

I remember scouring Reddit forums to find people's personal success experiences/stories

But the list of causes and triggers is so overwhelming and i was desperate for a direction in knowing where to look for me personally

I got the reading Hexagram 3 UC - 'Sprouting' - the image of an underground seedling which sprouts and fights for emergence from the soil

Immediately this gave me cause for looking at my diet (plants) - especially because last month was also when i dramatically started increasing my intake of plants as a means of moving further towards a vegetarian lifestyle and for exploring gut microbiome health

Of course not all plants could be to blame, so i narrowed it even further thanks to the image and name of this hexagram. I had increased my consumption of legumes quite heavily, and legumes are seeds that can be sprouted, specifically they can be sprouted to help reduce their lectin content. So the image of sprouting linked to the issue of lectins too. Lectin is a defence mechanism of plants which do not wish to be consumed. Although people say lectin is stripped of legumes when cooked, in my opinion if a plant does not wish to be consumed, it will hold that as it's vibrational intent, and so even if we remove lectins, that plant's natural make-up and vibrational intent will wreak havoc on our digestive system regardless - what gave me this opinion is my following experience (including the fact i had a particularly bad migraine episode after eating a chickpea curry)

I didn't completely eradicate lectins from my diet, but i stopped consuming the heaviest hitters which includes legumes and completely eliminated those from my diet. Immediately i started recovering from my symptoms

I haven't consumed legumes since and for a good couple weeks now i haven't suffered any of the debilitating migraine symptoms i had before. Of course it's only been two weeks or so, so the jury may still be out but how this direct correlation of improvement of symptoms occurred with a lack of relapse as soon as i eliminated legumes, it seems quite promising.

Since i changed my diet and dramatically increased consumption of lectin containing plants, i believe there are just some people who have certain thresholds of tolerance for substances like lectins and histamines, once you pass that threshold you develop such ailments as migraines. The link between migraines and the gut also seems evident when nausea is indicated as an aura symptom, it reminds me of the gut-brain connection and the vagus nerve.

These little dudes really don't want to be consumed and i've started to take that message seriously now haha!
