My husband just got a new job and he recently finished his probation period and he has been confirmed. It’s a great role and a lot of responsibility. He has been employed for the first time in his career as Director. So I asked the oracle if his job as Director is secure and safe? As an answer I got 60.1 changing into 29. I saw kind of a negative vibe in the answer I got. I see 60 mentioning about restriction and 29 mentions dark times. So I got a bit panicked.
Hence I did a second round asking if he will be in the Director role at the company where he is not for the future few years? And the answer I got was 41.3.5.6 changing into 5.
Same like before I get a sense of negative vibes. 41 mentions about losing and damaging and 5 talks about waiting and needing…. All these answers means he will lose his job any time soon? I am panicking a bit and I need your help to make sure I interpret the oracle’s answer correctly.

My impression of the first reading is actually comforting, I think. 29 and its chasms are the relating hexagram, not what Yi's saying is available to work with. Your pit of worry is how you're relating to this. But 60 is about agreements and contracts. Your husband just got confirmed - I suppose anything could happen at any time, but I'd guess the most likely outcome is that the confirmation actually means what it's supposed to, that they're happy with him.

Line 1 might mean something like don't go out your door, don't go outside of what you know, looking for trouble.

The hexagram 41 reading... one thing is that the only reason you cast it is because you thought the first one was negative, which I don't think it is...

But it could be independent, a literal answer to your 2nd question. You're projecting several years into the future...41 and 5...one really obvious thought is maybe Yi's pulling your leg a little. To know what will happen a few years from now, you'll just have to wait. ;)

41 might mean that hanging onto the job will require some sacrifice. I'd guess that's not terribly surprising - most responsible jobs probably do. But it says, "Two simple vessels may be used for the offering," which means a manageable sacrifice, not your entire harvest.

41.3 usually confuses me. It's often said to be about finding the right size for something, a group or whatever. Do you think that could describe your husband's hiring? Is he filling a vacancy, and now that he's there the group is the right size? Otherwise maybe just keep it in mind in case you hear things that sound like it.

41.5 - very encouraging, I think. Look at it as an answer: "Will he be a director here for at least a few years?" Answer: "All the tortoise shell oracles agree!"

41.6 -
"Not decreasing, increasing it.
Not a mistake.
Constancy, good fortune.
Fruitful to have a direction to go.
Gaining servants, not a home."

"Not decreasing, increasing it" could be a reference to 41's paired hexagram 42, Increase. 42 is about blessing, but also about pouring in and making continuous improvements (see 42's Image). I guess obviously the more your husband can make a positive contribution to the company and help improve it, the more valuable he'll be and the more security he'll have.

It also calls for being "constant" - persevering. Another trait that's usually helpful in jobs...

"Fruitful to have a direction to go" - well, your husband's a director, helping set the direction... maybe that's too obvious. But it does sound like what higher-level employees help do: have vision, steer the boat, set goals and move towards them, things like that.

"Gaining servants, not a home" - not sure about this. My only thought is you're concerned about him staying in this job for several years, but maybe Yi's implying that it could be a stepping stone if he does well? :) In any event, it doesn't sound bad at all.

Hi Liselle, that’s so helpful. Thank you very much. So based on what you say overall looks good. And you don’t see an answer saying that there is a risk for him to lose his job?

I think it’s possible 60.1 was speaking to you in that you’re in the house, so to speak, in the sense of you not being the one employed at this job. I think it’s saying that somehow you being overly concerned or involved in this matter isn’t a helpful thing. Is there a specific reason you’re worrying about him losing his job after he’s just been promoted? 60.1 is somewhat about not getting involved with what’s “out there” and focusing on your own things. Obviously in a marriage it’s not clear cut at all and it does involve both of you, it just seems that maybe you can’t do very much of use in worrying about this and perhaps there’s something else right under your nose you can attend to that’s being avoided with this worry?

60.1 and 41-5 make me think that there is like a situation waiting. Is your husband already hired ? Perhaps the very nice line 41.5 and hexagram 5 mean that the situation will evolve even better. For now, he is earning 41.6 servants... The hexagram 5 evokes an expectation, well, it's not negative

Well, I mean, it's a reading interpretation, which is never an ironclad guarantee of anything... it's very possible to "know" what a reading means, and then things happen in real life and suddenly you see the reading in a different light...

But with that caveat - no, I really don't see that. I think it's encouraging. If he continues to do a good job for the company and so forth, I think it's encouraging.
