My mother heart's surgery Hex 19.2.6 -> 27

Hello,

My mother is right now at the hospital.
I asked the I Ching "what will happen if she do the heart surgery the doctors says they will do for her ?".

I get Hex 19 changing in line 2 and 6 to Hex 27.

My reading is that it will be succefull in the first time after some complications.
But for hex 27 I really don't understand what it means in the second time...
First she did'nt want to go to the hospital because she did'nt like doctors at all (she spend 2 years without having seen any doctors...too bad) and she felt old and want to die (but she's only 75), but before the surgery she was like she realize that she "can" live, and she finally approve to be at the hospital, with kind persons taking car of her. Is it too late to realize how beautiful life is ?

And right now, she did this surgery already this afternoon. And it was complicated, but she is still alive.
But they tell me she can died from a heart attack because her veins are in too bad quality for a long time or perhaps she can go better. The doctors says it's hard to tell right now if she will live because they could'nt do right now the best surgery they can do for her (because of poor quality of her veins).

I wish she can "go further on".
What do you think about it ?

It's really hex 19.2.6 and not hex 10 in the title.

Apparently this surgery was a last resort, and the doctor was unable to make needed repair because of the poor condition of your mother's veins and arteries. I associate 27 with feeding the elderly. This and the situation suggests to me that your mother will need care for the rest of her life and there will be no recovery to the person you knew ten years ago. Sorry. Hatcher translates 19 as "Taking charge," and now is the time for you to take charge of your mother's affairs. The lines suggests that you will grow even closer to you mother in the time she has left.

I see the reading as quite positive.
19 speaks of appoach and advancement, which is generally a good thing, considering your mothers current health state. Now I have seen two different interpretations for the line "in the 8. month, misfortune comes", which are a bit contradictory: one saying (I believe this is what Hilary says) Don't try to force premature results, this will be unsuccessfull. In your mother's case could mean, take the rehabilitation time serious and slowly, don't rush for example getting back home, and trying to resume normal life.

the second interpreations is more along the lines of what Tom advised: Use the good time left now, it won't last forever.

Both of these however I think point to a positive aspect, either short- or long-lived. Since however both moving lines are positive, I'd lean personally more to the first opinion.
In both cases, it seems like you will be called onto to take some care of your mother (19.2 "Joint approach.

Ad, as Tom mentioned 27 "Paying attention to what you put in your mouth", which I agree seems to be about nurturing. But it also could mean some other form of care, maybe something like assisted living?

Nice to read from you again.
Yes you're definitly right saying this surgery was her last ressort. Actually her heart is only working 20% and her kidneys are "out of order" she has to use dialysis machine. She was still living tonight but I don't know for how long.

You are right saying me and my brother get even closer to my mum right now. Hex 19 says for the changin line "in the 8. month, misfortune comes"...it really comes quickly this time ! And hex 27 said that she will need assistance for "nurturing" is right now an evidence. In any case if she can go out from hospital - I doubt seriously she can but who knows...- then she will live being assisted the rest of her life. That was the doctor said tonight to confirm hex 27.

The situation is really sad, and chance of living really bad, but I would like to thank you very much because you helped me seeing the reality as it will be.

Hope now I can see her live even few days more.
