Hi everyone,
today I recieved hexagram 4 with the moving lines 2 and 6 with the future hex 2, my question was - "what do I have to look forward to?"
Seeing as to how my plans for Easter break didn't happen and then hearing my ex left for Mexico a few days ago well I was kinda... bummed, I guess to just throw things out there I was a bit jealous that he's there and i'm here lol.. very stupid I know.
And the concert I was supposed to go to, well today, ended up not working out also.
Like i'm fine with everything, I just feel like everything I was excited for is not working, and I know that's to be expected but.. I guess I just had alot of expectations.
Well anyways, I don't want to feel sorry for myself too long, I'm enjoying my down time right now..

So I was just wondering what it's telling me?
:s
The lines in hexagram 4 are kind of confusing,

"These lines picture a man who has no external power, but who has enough strength of mind to hear his burden of responsibility. he has the inner superiority and strength that enable him to tolerate with kindliness the shortcomings of human folly. The same attitude is owed to women as the weaker sex. One must understand them and give them recognition in a spirit of chivalrous consideration. Only this combination of inner strength with outer reserve enables one to take on the responsibility of directing a larger social body with real success."

and then,

"Sometimes an incorrigible fool must be punished. He who will not heed will be made to feel. This punishment is quite different from the preliminary shaking up. But the penalty should not be imposed in anger; it must be restricted to an objective guarding against unjustified excesses. Punishment is never an end in itself but serves merely to restore order."

Help?

"what do I have to look forward to?"

4.3.6 > 2

ignorance recieves.

Off the top of my head seems like there is much to look forward too, if you just surrender to not knowing.

The lines are giving you direct advice on how to do this, be the man in line 2 and in line 6 dont beat yourself up about not having as an 'exciting' time as your ex (i put that in inverted commas as who knows what will happen in mexico, I went there once and had just an ok time), thats just a possible reading of the lines.

and you are verbalising the dilemma directly yourself:
Like i'm fine with everything, I just feel like everything I was excited for is not working, and I know that's to be expected but.. I guess I just had alot of expectations.

expectations that don't leave room for something to look forward to, trying to pre-empt outcome with intellect...or your own list of what should be happening.

But overall, IMO, the advice is surrender to not knowing or ignorance recieves... so who knows what you have to look forward to, open up and let it in.
