New direction in art

Change is in the air and a new direction for my art is beckoning - I have found a potential new mentor/teacher in the abstract field that I am very drawn to, and am considering to sign up for. For context purposes, I never ever thought that I would like
painting in an abstract manner, but I feel like I am being pulled strongly along in this direction - strange but nice

So I asked:

What would I gain from immersing myself in abstract painting?​

I received 18.6 >46

After the initial shock of seeing 18 "Corruption", I was much comforted by the changing line and it's message that this change is right and fitting, and serves me, first and foremost. I am not afraid of the hard and steady work of Hex 46.... starting small and plodding along patiently towards success.

So I think this is a positive endorsement of my query.

It might also mean the abstract stuff won't be commercially viable, or maybe not right away at least. But if it ends up inspiring you or kickstarting your creativity or helps you see things differently or something like that (I think you said elsewhere you felt a little stagnant) - if it's a way to keep progressing upward (46), I agree Yi's endorsing that.

18 can be a shocking hexagram to receive. It's meaning is more angled towards working on things that have become stagnant or renovating or renewing a situation. So what you will gain from you immersing yourself in abstract painting will be a sense of renewal. 46 enwraps the sense of gain in a warm blanket; when you take the series of small steps necessary now they will lead you to the top of a fresh mountain.

18.6 Step out of the swamp you are currently trudging through and release your hidden potential.

It does indeed seem like a positive endorsement.
