I asked a question regarding a claim in court that I had made. The judgement arrived last week and I won part of my claim, but lost others. I asked the yching for advice on making a possible appeal:

What can I expect if i appeal the judgement of the Tribunal in the Higher Appellant court?

I received 36.5-63

I use the Wu Wei interpretation (and now Im not sure how good it is, even though I am grateful that I was introduced to yching through it). I also have the wilhelm translation, but I find that harder to interpret, since I read that after wu wei's.

Any insight on the answer I received would greatly help me, I will be thankful.

Meghna, welcome to Clarity. 36.5 changes to 63. Could you please correct this?

Thank you so much, pocossin. This clearly shows how new I am to the yiching. I'm so thankful.
Could you please help me how I should interpret this. I have the Wilhelm yiching but I have been following the Wei way one so far (don't know how correct I've been in that as is apparent)!
Advice would be welcome.

36.5 > 63

The Judgment, Image, and line text are auspicous for appeal:

Six in the fifth place means:
Darkening of the light as with Prince Chi.
Perseverance furthers.

Please be aware that I do not know the courts and legal costs in your country. If legal costs will exceed possible returns, then you should not appeal. If legal costs are less than what you might gain on appeal, then appeal is justified. Also, could you be deprived of gains you have already made by an appeal? If you would be risking what you have already gained, I'd say don't appeal but stick with what you have. Hexagram 63 warns of disorder at the end, so be certain that you will be able to make your case if you appeal.

I have not used Wu Wei, but simplified versions of the I Ching are good introductions. When I began to study the I Ching, I was helped by Alfred Douglas's simplification of Legge, but I would not recommend this version to anyone now.

I just wanted to give some more background regarding my question. I have been the claimant in a court case which began approximately 9 months ago. It was a case related to my employment with a friend who cheated me in end and did not pay me anything for the work I had done. It has been a very hard period for me (and my family). My father helped me at the hearing and I was representing myself, which is accepted in the employment tribunals in the UK. I felt the hearing went quite well. I received the Judgement last week and was disappointed as although in theory the tribunal did find in my favour on most counts they only awarded me compensation for 2 of my claims. Now they have asked that we try and settle the claim and if we cannot do so by the 23rd of dec., there could be a remedy hearing. At the time when I did the reading, I felt that justice had not been done as there were contradictory points in the judgement. It seemed to me that I may need to appeal the judgement, for the sake of justice being served ( even though this would be a burden for me as I really wish it to be over). I just felt that I may need to appeal whether I liked it or not. I asked ths question of the oracle to find out whether going for an appeal would be in my favour...
Since I did the reading, I sent the other sides solicitors my updated schedule of loss (as ordered by the tribunal) and they have come back to me disputing the sums. Once again, this is very exhausting and frankly I feel their way of aggravating me.

I have read and re-read the answers in the reading but I cannot understand what I should do, and what my action should be. I would be eternally thankful for advice on this and any other readings/questions I should be asking to get more clarity on actions to be taken.

I would like thank pocossin once again for the correction. This is such a wonderful place and I am so glad I found you on the search engines (it was not easy!) :

Hello pocossin, I think we wrote at the same time...! Thank you for your guidance. In terms of legal costs, if I am unable to find free representation, I will represent myself, that is possible here as it I did in the tribunal. I have been awarded a sum which as I said, is again being disputed by the other side. The reading says you feel that if I have been awarded I should probably not appeal unless my case is perfectly in order ( pretty difficult also as it is not a simple case and the judgement is not simple either, there are so many facets). I feel I should do another reading of how I should act to receive the best compensation now. It's a hard call for me to take, but I do want this to be over, as a year has already been taken out of my life in this battle.
Thank you for your interpretation pocossin, it resonates rightly within.

This may sound like a silly question from a novice, but pocossin, I would really like to understand how you were able to interpret the reading? I did not see at all what you saw so easily. I suppose it takes much experience, so any advice I would greatly appreciate.

It isn't a silly question. It's the heart of the matter. How are casting, situation, and querent combined into a reading? I hope to offer tutoring in divination in a few months. I will go into specific details about how I make a reading. The price will be ten readings for others in Shared Readings at the end of the course. The idea is to encourage more participation in Shared Readings.

er I think there is something fundamentally flawed with this plan. You charge people by asking for readings here so they learn your particular style of divination ? I don't like that idea....at all.

Hi trojan, I thought what pocossin meant was we would do 10 readings for others once the course is competed, so it seemed a pro bono thing. Not sure if I got it right though. Only pocossin can help there! :)

I doubt, Trojan, they will be learning my style. They will, I hope, be developing their own. It won't all be one-way. I expect to learn from them and to have my weaknesses pointed out. And, yes, the price will be ten readings for others, as Sitatara says, by whatever method they choose to use.
