Old boyfriend

Hi everyone,

Can someone help me with interpreting this Hexagram. I still have feelings for an old boyfriend. I am sometimes in contact with him. Was wondering, if the feelings may be mutual. Or if he may still care. I received:

Hexagram 51 (Shock) - Unchanging

Does that mean something unexpected will happen? How does this relate to love?

Can anyone shed some light here?

I would recommend, before asking a question, to search for just the right question which has one direct intent. In my experience, and also from reading through this forum, this helps greatly in really understanding Yi's response.

Your question(s) are hard for Yi to answer, as you have two intentions, 1 is if the feeling is mutual, the second is if he still has feeling for you. I think youll probably see that these are two seperate questions.


With 51 I think yi here could be mirroring your own emotions around this. You could be extremely shocked, can also mean depression, basically a very powerful emotion that induces fear and also gives you a direct 'bolt from the blue', a new insight which is completely unexpected and which has to be dealt with in the correct way. In another way it can be translated as arousal, sexual, or a new beginning. But because your intiial question was so vague i would suggest asking a few others.

I would suggest you ask something more direct.

for instance 'please give me an image of our relationship now'

'what is the best thing to do for myself regarding this relationship'

and

'what does x need from me'.

These questions should give you an overall working platform to figure out what is happening in this situation.
