I've had a really rough two years and have really lost my sense of self and am trying my best to figure myself out and get on the right path for me. I recently discovered I Ching and have asked a few questions relating to this to help guide me.

First Question "Please provide me what my path in life should be"

The I Ching pointed to Hexagram 26 with marks in line 2 transforming it to Hexagram 22.

I'm completely new to this and really have no idea how to interpret any of this especially as it relates to my question.

I got the following from another site. Could anybody please help me with an interpretation?? Would really appreciate it!

26
Keeping Still, Mountain
The Creative, Heaven
The Judgement
The Taming Power of the Great.
Perseverance furthers.
Not eating at home brings good fortune.
It furthers one to cross the great water.
The Image
Heaven within the mountain:
The image of The Taming Power of the Small.
Thus the superior man aquaints himself with many sayings of antiquity
And many deeds of the past,
In order to strengthen his character thereby.
The 2nd line marked means:
The axletrees are taken from the wagon.

22
Keeping Still, Mountain
The Clinging, Flame
The Judgement
Grace has success.
In small matters
It is favorable to undertake something.
The Image
Fire at the foot of the mountain:
The image of Grace.
Thus does the superior man proceed
When clearing up current affairs.
But he dare not decide controversial issues in this way.

Hmm...sorry to hear you’ve been having a struggle but meanwhile, welcome!
26. follows 25. Innocence, which describes some poor fool who just seems to be making the same stupid mistakes over and over and never learns. So 26.2 says it’s time to slow down, don’t be so quick to react. Maybe take a deep breath and see things from a higher perspective.
22. Urges you to focus on your visions and dreams and surround yourself with symbols of what you are wanting to manifest. Be careful to also not let images of what you DON’T want fill your head (ie. don’t watch violent films, join in negative conversations etc).

26.2 is a picture of a wagon that is just not going anywhere right now.
It could be a picture of you feeling or being stuck for a while.

Here is a much better question:
What can I do to make things better?

Thank you for taking the time to help me out!

Funny, part of my struggle has been career wise. I've been miserable in the same type of job for 7 years and haven't done anything about it because the paycheck was decent and steady and I didn't know what else to do.

Thank you for responding!

Have definitely been feeling stuck.

I will try that question. I got the one I asked off of another site that had suggested ways to phrase questions.

Was hoping for more references to things I should be doing to move forward in my life but it seems its referencing my past and current state... hmm...

Is asking for a guiding principle a good question to ask?
