I may not be the one to respond to such a beautiful statement, but I would say (referring to the soviet cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev, who was stationed in MIR during the Glasnost process, on the fall of the USSR, said: "From here - ie MIR - I can not see any borders between the countries on the Earth") that you are right because any inch of this planet belongs to every living creature from the smallest to the biggest at any moment.

Another representation of that Old Chestnut: when is freedom not freedom; where is common land not for the use of the commoners or the space in which to flourish been misappropriated.

Reminds me of the Gettisburg Address by Abe Lincoln

“that these dead shall not have died in vain– that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth”

Perhaps after 150 years memory fades.
