Pursuing a career?

Hi all,

I am currently in school, trying to pursue a career. The field that I want to get into is pretty challenging (for me). I have a lot of doubts in my ability to succeed. I'm worried that I may be wasting my time or hanging on to false optimism. So I asked I Ching for some clarity.

The question was: what do I need to know about my ability to pursue a career in X?
Answer: 58 unchanging.

I'm not sure how I can relate this hex to my question. Please help!

58 is about negotiating. How are your skills on that? Sounds to me like this is the key, and what you should work on.

This makes sense to me. "Negotiation" can definitely increase my chances. It has been on my mind and I am slowly mapping out a convincing argument. I sure hope it can take me where I need to be!

I have been working with professors, classmates, and friends.
It seems to me like this hex isn't hopeless. What do you say?

Intimates that (under its conditions) there will be progress and attainment.
(But) it will be advantageous to be firm and correct.

58 is generally a very good hex, two lakes supporting each other, having fun, water flowing - as opposed to 52 stillness.
So go for it, you are able to do this
