Question about staying safe at work 40.2.4 > 2

Hi all,
I have joined work after 7 years of break - though it wasn't a complete break, I was freelancing. Joining a job after 7 years is a big change though.
Its an international company, though run like a small company in India by the boss here - Being bossy, listening and believing gossips, having favorites etc.
I had earlier worked here and couldn't stay longer than few months and left. That was a decade ago, when I was single and free. Now I have a daughter to take care of, and can't afford to leave this job until I'm settled and gain confidence back of being in a workplace.
Yesterday the boss kind of sent a hate message. the reason being she didn't think I was in office much.
Which is not true.

So I asked Yi "what can I do to be safe at this place?"

2 may be showing my situation, that I'm passive, where as I need to be more active and have my presence felt.

I'm confused with this one... Should I first prove myself to gain the confidence of the seniors?

I came across interpretations on this forum that this could be getting help of a senior.. could it be that I act only with guidance?
I am at a pretty senior position here, and above me is this lady, A, my boss. There is one other seniors from other country who seems supportive, however he can do only so much. A has the most power... Is Yi suggesting I work with her guidance?

I can't make sense what Hex 40 Release says here... The first thought came to my mind was escape from here. But then my question is about staying safe here.

Any guidance, ideas are welcome.

Hi Lilo,

condolences to your being in a bad workplace...this is a stressful situation indeed.
To me, your reading very clearly says, that there is only one way to stay safe, and that is break away from this job. Hex 40 is Deliverance, and urges you to QUICKLY leave for a better place: "If there is still something where one has to go, Hastening brings good fortune."
Moreover, Hex 40 speaks of "return to the southwest" - return to a place where you feel at home and safe. Obviously this is not the case in current workplace.
The lines seem to me to say to you that there are better job options available to you (Line 2) if you just have the courage to let go of your current situation (Line 4).

The relating hex 2 can be seen in a similar light - to me it says let go of your fears, accept that things may be financially not so good for the moment, without this job, but this will bring good fortune in the end.

Note that this advice is based solely on what I see in the reading, since I do not know your own sitution firsthand...but I have personally never experienced a work situation where one is mobbed by the boss to somehow get better or resolved without leaving...

Maui is absolutely right that things must change and the lines certainly do point to a change.
However, and it is just a thought remember, but might give you something to think about.
The casting Might be saying that there is an internal issue here relating to working in this environment. Nothing is worse than a bad tasting work environment, but perhaps you might think about changing your own stance, modus operandi, behaviour patterns. The letting go of the fear of something - within you, could lead to a different perception of the problem.

I have had 2 as a resulting hexagram and very often this has to do with an inner rather than actual change.

Thank you Maui and butterfly spider.
I would really prefer if the change is within.. I can feel that I do need a different persona to be safe here... Like being more active, making my presence felt, whether I work or not and such things, which are completely opposite me character, but now I'm in such a place that I actually don't mind doing it; provided it works.
Change of job seems difficult though not impossible if I really try. However I can't seem to find anything like 'Southwest' as of now...There can be a teaching opportunity at my alma mater, low pay but prestigious institute and lot of work satisfaction. I will check that option too..
In the mean while I will try and change my stance...

I think that in order to stay safe you need to neutralise negative influence in your work place.

Line 2 - Foxes are cunning creatures, acting behind the scenes. You need to "take them down". This is not literal, it is a metaphor. You need to learn how to deal with them, not allowing them to carry on their destructive influence.

Line 4 - Thumbs also might be suggesting wrong companies that you are getting attached to. Release them and you will find real partnership, the ones you can trust.

So there is a bit of work for you, a learning curve, by figuring out how to deal with those people and sorting out who you should associate with. Hope that helps :bows:

Mirian, that perfectly makes sense!
I have been sitting around and lunching with two ladies who otherwise speak nicely, but telling me to stay away from the other, when alone. I also feel the culture here is such that you mix mostly within your hierarchical category, and I have not been doing that.
Wow! That's a breakthrough. I mean I always felt it inside that I should watch who I'm being with but never took it seriously.
I will first change my place! And lunch timings too.
