After an intense period of activity that raised a bunch of challenges, opportunities and questions, both in my work and personal life, I rather intentionally entered a period of "limbo" about eight weeks ago. I knew that I'd done my best to influence various situations, and now I'd just let myself go with the flow, sit back some and watch, see what further information I could gather - especially about what *I* now wanted to do - by not steering for a bit.

Now I feel I've learned a lot, but I'm not quite able to rouse myself to start initiating again, to take much action. Perhaps I still haven't found the depth where my new motivation will arise, or perhaps I'm just deliciously tempted by this state of induced paralysis...

So I asked...
Q: What activity would best get me moving again?
A: 44, 6 => 28

nothing yet. you are too eager to start something " He comes to meet with his horns." and is not the right state of mind.

You resist successfully

I have read so many different interpretations of this line.

I think you're being 'remote' for a very good reason. There's someone or some situation you wish to have no more to do with. Your enthusiasm will come back and tell you which is the right way to go.

I'll copy from the WikiWing here:

The protagonist engages with something with his/her horns - trying to ward it off, or to win a battle for dominance. Is that a good response? Sometimes yes - what you are struggling with is a real threat. (Examples: heroin addiction; relationship with someone unbalanced; abusive and violent neighbour.) Sometimes no - you are fighting for dominance and missing the chance for a potentially life-changing partnership. (Examples: dominating a brilliant wife; keeping a gifted employee away from the projects where she could really shine.) Sometimes it's not at all obvious.

Responding with your horns isn’t exactly adequate to the situation, but it may be the best you can do. There is the question of being forced and the question of escaping, and the question of what would happen if you let this force have its way. Who wouldn't resist?

44 zhi Hexagram 28, Great Overstepping. Incoming force you cannot possibly sustain or live with. Excessive use of force either threatened or employed in the encounter. You resist successfully, however you do it. You are not to blame.

44.6 reminds me of the line from the movie Dolores Claiborne: "Sometimes being a bitch is the only thing a woman has to hang on to"

It doesnt seem to match your laid-back stance...but it seems a good time to defiantly enjoy delicious temptations, maybe even create some

From the text of Hexagram 28:

Success
If you take action
in any direction.

It also speaks of being alone and fearless:

I'ts quite ok to be alone, you know. Nothing wrong with it. :)

I once spent enrolled in a yoga class for six weeks. I ate right, meditated and came through walking tall, physically fit, mentally alert at all times. When the course was completed I treated myself to one junior size Snickers bar.. and then another.. and another.. and ..well..that was three years ago and I haven't done a Downward Dog or Salute to the Sun since. All that good done in by one teensy 44. Unconscious Urge. If only I'd met it with a 44.6 Firm Resistance I might not have had my 28. bridge collapse.
Bottom line, I think 44.6 is your old active mind wanting to be in control again urging, "Come on, this little vacation and soul searching has all been very nice but now it's time to get back to the real world," which will lead to 28. the collapse of all your good intentions to lead a more spirit guided life.
So echoing gato and wf here, no need to rush to fill up your dance card, apply this urge to get active to something creative, something where you can express sprit's guidance - and I would add projects that don't commit you too far into the future as 28. suggests you may start a project and then need to get additional support to complete it.

Oh, also wanted to add to Ginnie's post about 28 meaning "Success if you take action in any direction." Hexagram 27 is Nourishment, then 28 is about putting what you've taken in to good use. So you've had this time to re-evaluate your direction and now you're wanting to put your insights to good use. So it does encourage taking action, but action based on what you've learned during your time out - not just action of jumping back into the old routine. And yes, action in any direction now is good, as long as you are taking small enough steps that you can then evaluate whether the direction you are going in is sustainable.
