Returning to a past love

I'm having lunch with my first love from when I was 18 and he was 19 years old, almost 25 years ago. At the time we thought we were soul mates but life happens and we split up. I've always regretted it and wondered what would have been. When I asked about what it would be like to start seeing him romantically again I got 24 Return with the first line changing to 2 Receptive. This is blowing my mind! A few key phrases are, supreme good fortune, those who have gone may return and there may be a homecoming or a return to a past situation. I did a more general reading a few days prior and got 50 the cauldron changing to 32 endurance. All in all sounds pretty positive, what do y'all think?

Generally 24.1 shows one returning from an unviable path, a mistake...not even a mistake, it's sometimes just an idea that isn't going anywhere. It's a short distance to return from this erroneous idea, it's not hard to let it go.

So I think Yi it is possibly telling you will return from the idea of seeing him romantically. Nice idea but how real is it after 25 years ? However you see it differently that the line means you and he can easily resume the relationship as if the 25 years hadn't happened ? Could be. I guess you'll find out soon enough.

BTW the homecoming in 24 is most often to one's self and one's true values. Sometimes it might refer to a literal return of someone though I guess.

For me Hex 24 usually means a Return to self as Trojina mentioned but the other day I asked if a guy I'd been dating would come back and I got Hex 24 unchanging. He has returned but at this point it's only as friends - it's also been a Turning Point in our relationship

I call 2. The Receptive, Earth, the Field of Dreams because I see it as representing infinite possibilities that have not yet been activated so as the second hexagram it usually means for me that a situation becomes neutral or that it will take more to make anything come of the situation. Thus I would only read 24.1 as meaning you do return, you do get to see the person again, but try to see him through fresh eyes, don't assume you are long lost lovers. If the spark is still there it will become obvious, but at this point it would be best if you don't have a lot of expectations. Let him Return and then consider how you want to respond.

Hi guys, I'm sorry I never responded to this. I was going to the wrong spot and not seeing the responses until now. I hyped myself up about seeing that guy and had lunch with him, came on way too strong and scared him off. The funny thing is, it was all built up in my head. When I actually saw him he wasn't nearly as great as what I had imagined him to be. So nothing came of that relationship except that I realized that I have real issues with obsessive compulsive thoughts around men and I started going to love addicts anonymous meetings which have really been helpful. So that encounter was huge in that it really showed me a side of myself that needed to be healed. Thank you.

The last couple of days when I've asked What do I need to know about my love life it's come back with 23 Unchanging - yes definitely Stripping Away lots of things I no longer need in myself and/or in relationships.
This morning when I asked I got 24 Unchanging - funny how it's come straight after days of Hex 23 (or maybe not). Last time I asked, as you can see, the guy did come back but again our relations fell apart pretty much for the same reasons. I feel though, at this point in time, Hexagram 24 unchanging means a Turning Point for myself - I personally feel I turned a corner within the last 24 hours.
So I guess many of the Hexagrams can mean so many different things.
