Romantic relationships hexagram

Hello! Forgive me if this has been already post but I am wondering what are the different hexagrams that talk about a love relationship and the difference between them.
44- More like an affair?
31- Attraction
54- I think it speaks about giving your "everything" without asking for nothing or someone feeling inferior in a relationship.
53- I have read that it speaks about a marriage but for the outside world. More like an institutional one.
32- I just don't know about this one

37- Some people say it's about a family but some people say it has nothing to do with it and it's more a roles hexagram.

Please tell me your opinion and which one would you add and what are the most auspicious lines or hexagrams!

All these are relationship hexagrams indeed.. i don’t know what to say about 37 though... Anyway it can be that the pair 37&38 can be about relationships: where 37 is the relationship between people that are alike and 38 is about opposites (like magnets, yin and yang kind of relationship). Pair 31&32 is about relationships too. The lines are really harmonious because of their position i’ll say. Every line has her proper correlate. 31 is about short term tho, and 32 about long term. I’ll deffy prefer 32 instead of 31 in relationship questions, but without moving lines because the lines of 32 are pretty unauspicious...
Then you’ve forgot some really important hexagrams regarding relationships: 8 and 11!!!
8 is Union and the most important 11, peace. This is one of the most equilibrated hexagrams. The energy is unfolding naturally exactly as it should be. Heaven under Earth, every line has her proper correlate. This is the most harmonious hexagram, i’ll be so happy to recieve it in a love reading.

Hexagram 13 can speak about a relationship aswell. It is called Union of Forces. Every line speaks about some kind of union.

Instead of 44, i will definitely choose its pair 45! There is more sincerity to 45. Almost every line is positive and speaks about union.

I can somehow associate 30 with the passion of a relationship and the state where everything is clear.

I think that this is all This is my understanding of the hexes. I don’t know if it’s right or not! I appreciate this post because it’s more about learning than finding something out Wish you all good Sennnn!

Sennnn, I find myself wondering why you'd want to create such a list in the first place? If it were me, I'd be very suspect of doing this: at the very least it will be false advertising and at worst it will not let you see the true meaning of the hexagrams, nor the response you get.

It's simliar to trying to identify hexagrams as being positive or negative (which is also not recommended!)

Condsider if you were to ask about a new job prospect, or about attending a new college, or about a friend with a terminal illness? If you then got one of your so-called 'romantic' hexagrams, would this mean, accordingly, that you should fall in love with your new boss, or only study marriage counseling at school, or shower your friend with romantic sentiments in the final stages of their life? I seriously doubt this.

And also consider if you were to pose a question or query about romance. Your response will come from among 450 possible hexgram and line statements, which I suppose means we could call the YiJing 'The Book of Romance' - but I like to think it goes well beyond that.

So instead .... you pose a romantic question or query, and the Yi responds, and it really doesn't make any difference if you get a 'romantic' hexagram or not for the answer - what matters is that you get an answer that addresses your situation, and one that you can understand.

Yes, the female provides sex readily and so she's not fit for marriage.

31- Attraction
Yes, the type of mutual attraction where the male woos the female.

Yes, but it more commonly shows a love triangle (or even more than 3 people).

53- I have read that it speaks about a marriage but for the outside world. More like an institutional one.
It's an engagement. All the formal procedures before marriage.

32- I just don't know about this one
An already married couple, an already established and stable relationship.

37- Some people say it's about a family but some people say it has nothing to do with it and it's more a roles hexagram.
It means family, so it shows a family. I must say, however, that I've seen this pop up many times when the querent craves to form a relationship with someone - in which case what I see is, if you're not married and have a family with this person, then for sure someone else is.

Diamanda, I can see this maybe being true for each of these (maybe), IF, in each case, someone asked a question about romance ....

But what about Hex. 2, or 39, or 25, or any of the 64 hexagrams and/or 390 lines? Don't you think they could be telling someone something about a romantic query or question?

So, again, to define these hexagrams as being 'romantic' seems very limiting and I think looking at it this way could make people completely miss the answer the Yi is providing to them.

Thanks for clarifying that. Yes, these all mention what we might call romantic-related themes. But while they could 'be about' romance, they can also be seen as larger lessons and metaphors for any number of live's situations.

Sorry for missing! This is a very interesting conversation. I was traveling this weekend and I couldn't read everything. Of course every hexagram could fit every situation. I was just wondering the difference between this hexagrams and the different kinds of love that are showed on them. But I also believe that some lines of any hexagram could show something romantic or iching could be showing us something else on our hexagrams. Thanks for your participation!

I find it curious what you say about hexagram 8 (for me was friendship)and 11 because I never related it to a romantic relationship. I thought it was "peace" but also I read in the forum that it was about flowing! It's armonious, of course!

I agree with everything except 54! For me talks about priorities (or maybe I don't want to face the truth) I don't know if anyone agree with me but it could be a situation where everything goes first but you.
For example, your partner is a musician and loves playing piano but doesn't have enough time for you.

Yes this is also possible. However, when a partner places you in such a position, it shows they don't truly love you and it's only a matter of time till they cheat on you as well.

The convo is really interesting indeed! I can see how @Freedda is right! Of course we are limiting Yi’s complexity by putting labels on Its hexagrams. That’s what we, humans, make with our lives and should avoid. Everything can be many things at the same time. BUT i also like @diamanda s reply and Yes, indeed, there are some hexes and lines that point exactly to wooing, marriage, relationships, etcetera. You can take them of course literally, or not: Maybe the Yi is speaking about a psychological marriage... or the relationship between the members of a family, or a man and his job, it can mean everything but at the end of the day it still is an union between two entities

As about hex 8 and 11, i can deffinitely see How 8 can mean an union in friendship! But not every ever lasting relationship is about sincere friendship aswell? Isn’t friendship a relationship aswell? For me being physical is just a bonus.

Last but not least, for me 11 will always be the ultimate hexagram about relationships. It’s the union of Heaven (the Masculine) and Earth (the Feminine) it’s so spiritual and divine! Even the number 11 is so important in numerology and so called “star crossed” relationships. For me 11 is the transcendental feeling of love
