Dear Friends,
I am professionally in a tight spot. I have joined in a new company where I am having a lot of trouble. There is no training for the job and I am finding it very difficult to do anything. There is no one to guide. It looks like I wouldn't be able to survive in this atmosphere anymore. Last week I took a break and now am considering taking up another job which was offered to me in another company. But I am not sure whether I will still get that job. Now it may also take me a while to find another job. In all this confusion I asked Yi about what happens if I continue in my old company? By this I mean will I be successful eventually or is it advisable to continue in my old company?
I got Hexagram 13.1,2,5.6 changing to 32.

Could anyone here give me some detailed insight into this reading please. My bias is to avoid the mental pressure in my old company but at the same time I know that things could turn better if I allow some time and continue in my old company as it is with patience....probably what the 32 might be saying. But please tell me the significance of each changing line.......I love the way people analyze things in this forum.

Thanks in advance

Hex 13.1 suggests that you get to know some of your coworkers during the breaks and perhaps after work.

Hex 13.2 It seems that there are people here who are very selfish, with no thought for others, such as yourself. Groups within the section.

Hex 13.5 You will have to face many obstacles in this job but if you persevere despite the hassles, then you will find success in the end.

Hex 13.6 this suggests that you will be able to join in with your coworkers in your section, not so much as a friend but certainly a team member.

Hex 32 this says that persevering will not only overcome your initial problems but will lead to lasting success, so stay with this job.

Who (at your company) have you directly gone to to discuss the situation? Is there someone there you could ask for support or guidance? Or do you feel more comfortable waiting for someone to offer?

13.1.2.5.6 > 32 Certainly does seem to be commenting on the difficulties in the group dynamic of where you are now.
13.1 Feeling good when you first interviewed and were accepted, but now..
13.2 Feeling you're not in with the in crowd? Feeling everybody else seems to know what they're doing and you're somehow left out of the loop?
13.5 Seems like there must be someone there you could bond with. As laylab asks, "Is there someone there you could ask for support or guidance?" It may not be someone you first would have thought of or possibly someone you have to "struggle" to connect with? Perhaps someone else who was recently hired and understands what you are now going through? Or perhaps this line indicates that overtime what you now see as a closed group will no longer seem so separate from yourself? Rather than being The Outsider to A Closed Group, you will start to see yourself and all the others are individuals, and find indivdiuals to build trust with. As you do everything you know to do and don't hang on to hurt feelings, the various things that need to be done get done.
13.6 You may not ever feel this workplace is your place, but it does seem by carefully picking your companions you can make it more comfortable.

32. Duration. The superior man stands firm and does not change his direction.
Sounds like you can survive if you stay. I'd sure encourage you to keep showing up for work. Hey, it's a paycheck!

Continuing in the old company is imaged in the second hexagram, Hex 32, which talks about continuing on the same way you're doing right now. Hex 13 is about relaxed association with others. One idea: you're too uptight about the job right now - if you learn to relax and enjoy the company of the people you're working with, you can continue in the job. Another idea: you should hang out with some of the people you work with after work and ask them about it, cuz they will be able to help you find ways to continue in the job.

Pearl,
I think the wording of the question is unfortunate. I am put off by questions that have 'if' in them or want a read on the future. Better to ask something like: is it time to quit this job, is it time to take a job with the new company, ought I to talk to supervisors about job conditions, etc. And then be prepared to embody the reply. You see, we all want assurances before we act. Where is the faith, then? Where?
