I am preoccupied with this question, above and I got this today
33.3.5.6 to 16.
Retreat. I think it is clear that I must not go ahead and make contact as it will not be positive to me.
I welcome some advice, your perspective please.

It doesn't look like it will serve you to say happy birthday especially if you secretly think it might lead to more contact.

However what's the worse that can happen ? That is what you need to consider. Saying happy birthday is an innocuous act, it cannot hurt anyone but it might hurt you if you get no reply. So maybe you have to weigh up for yourself if you want to risk rejection again if he does not respond as you'd like. This answer does seem to be advising you to save yourself and keep yourself away from harm.
